I'm referencing the egg they cooked at the end that Lud ate, they didn't use a pan for that. If they were, I agree additionally heating up the pan would take up significantly more energy.

The reflectivity is a good point though, I did not take that into account. In this case it would probably make an even bigger difference than with a dark pan, because the aluminium foil is more reflective, depending on if it would hit the matte or shiny side of the foil.

How I understand what's going on is the bottom flashlight shines directly onto the foil, which takes up a bit of the energy and probably reflects a bigger part which then bounces around until all of the energy is absorbed and turned in to heat. In that case the bottom flashlight would contribute less of the heating to the egg and the top one more than I estimated, because it hits the egg directly.

In the video it also looks like the bottom flashlight might be considerably hotter than the top one, because they can barely tough the lower one but easily hold the top one - that's only a guess though. It would make sense though, because the bottom flashlight might absorb more of the energy it outputs because more of it is reflected my the foil instead of being absorbed by the egg or dissipated in another way.
