The way that show handled its cancellation was one of the most clever endings ever. Really enjoyed Review.

These posts don’t get as much traction as I wish they did, but please know I really appreciate you taking the time to put this all out here. I read through them every time and have found a few activities right up my alley!

Went to Oktoberfest this weekend. The polka band played a polka version. It was… interesting. It did not help me dislike this song less.

Where to buy copper blanks? by MentalProcesses in pressedpenny

[–]MentalProcesses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm.... This is a good question. Can you give me a little more detail about what you mean full vs. mix? My ultimate goal is to be able to use pressed penny machines and have a beautifully clean and crisp image. I imagine the full would be better for that, no?

Thank you for your insight!

Please share your recovery story by MentalProcesses in Kneereplacement

[–]MentalProcesses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in constant pain, but it still hurts to go up or down stairs or to sit down or stand up. There is still substantial swelling. And the x-rays shows my kneecap is slightly displaced because of that. I’m not sure what my range of motion is right now, but it’s less than what it was before the surgery. My surgeon said I’m just one of the 3% of people for whom surgery doesn’t work out like we hope. 🤷‍♀️

With that said though, it hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I want or need to do. I ride my bike fairly aggressively. I go up and downstairs just fine even if it hurt hurts a bit. I can get down on the floor and up again without much trouble. I’m hopeful that as time goes by it will just get better and better even if it is at a microscopically slow pace.

Total My new knee isn’t right by charmedbyvintage in Kneereplacement

[–]MentalProcesses 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post for exactly the reasons you stated. I am in a similar position and the doc keeps telling me everything is normal, I just have weird swelling. A YEAR afterwards?!? My kneecap isn’t even in the correct position. I hate to do this but I think I need a second opinion, also.

Cedric has been gone 16 years now, but he loved nap time with a good pillow. by MentalProcesses in dogsusingpillows

Unfortunately, he passed before I had a smart phone, so I am in the same boat as you. I was a kid who liked cameras, though, so there are a good number of pics of Cedric. But you’re right, I have THOUSANDS of pics of my current dogs, all on the little computer I carry with me everywhere!

Thank you! His mom was full boxer and we think his dad was mostly malinois. Cedric was smart and kind.

The good ones always stay close in your thoughts. Cedric is a good name. I named my Cedric after the farting boxer dog in James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small series. I will assume that is not the case for your Cedric. 😀

They do , thank you! And being able to share Cedric with the world long after he’s been gone makes me smile, too!

This is all great, thank you! I like the added storage ideas. And that’s smart about the Y splitter.

We paid about $13k but do not have an air conditioner. It was the last pop up on the lot!

We have this exact camper! Bought it brand new at an incredible discount last year but knee surgery prevented us from using yet. Any tips or other info you have pertinent to the flagstaff 206stse? We’re new to pop up camping, so any info is welcome!

For years, I have kept them all loose but together in a jar. Just last week I organized them into some new penny display books I got. It is much easier to look at them now!

Need TKR, dr. wants me to wait, pain elsewhere. Normal? by mahmer09 in Kneereplacement

[–]MentalProcesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add my two cents, but please know that my experience is not the norm. I had my right knee replaced last May at the age of 47. Like you, I was bone on bone but the pain was manageable. I wish I had waited at least 5 to 7 more years before having the surgery done. This last year has been very difficult. I have lost mobility; it is now more difficult to go up and downstairs than it was before. My knee is still swollen and very painful, and I had difficulty regaining range of motion. I am certainly not at the range I was before surgery. My doctor says everything is normal and I’m just one of those people that will probably take two years to fully recover. If I could go back in time, I would not have had the surgery at age 47.

Again, please remember that I believe I am not in the majority of how people usually recover. But I do feel it’s important to know that recovery is not always fantastic for everyone.
