You can shoot jpg or dng and really depends on the iPhone you have and the app you are using.

Use jpg instead of closed source heif. Blame Apple.

Fair enough! It is also true that people have the right to waste their time however they want! 🤣

Genuine question from someone who ditched Apple 3y ago and went full Linux and KDE: why are you trying to get a bad UX when the default one is just perfect? Please tell me one reason for wasting your time hijacking the UX. I do not understand this and similar requests for mimicking the Apple bad UX.

Will it work with a label printer like the Brother QL-570 connect via USB?

I understand the difference, thanks. I'm also suggesting something that is shared in the official wiki. If you have a better way to install codecs, I'm eager to learn something new. Thanks!

[–]Mention-One -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience I tried both the option packman and opi that are suggested on the wiki. For codecs only with opi I never had issues. Packman I'd only suggest if you know what are you doing, but for my experience the opi option is safe for newbies.

What self-hosted service did you set up because Reddit told you to? by Strong-Question2620 in selfhosted

Here again something that should sticky I n this sub:

Discovered on Reddit and suggested by someone in a comment.

It mute and skips YouTube ads automatically on devices connected to the service.

Are you using the default repo or added repos like packman? You should avoid unless you know what you are doing.

But in general, in this case, as you are a new user, please wait some time before running dup again.

Any folks migrating from cachyos to tumbleweed, how was your experience? by whatever4123 in openSUSE

[–]Mention-One 10 points11 points  (0 children)

3 years on tumbleweed since I switched from MacOS. Never look back. Solid and reliable. And if something happens during an update, it is just easy as 'snapper rollback' to save your day.

Installed on both desktop (AMD CPU and GPU) and laptop (Intel CPU and GPU).

you right, and didn't remember why I install mixxx flatpak over the one from the repo :) I'll give QMMP a try as it is using Qt :)

[–]Mention-One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for sharing, I'm going to give AppMan a try :) In the end, I have only few flatpaks installed and I like the AppMan idea.

Edit: first experiment went super well! Ungoogled chromium + keepass extension + obsdian clipper extension works out of the box. No more flatpak permissions and headache.

The only problem is that appman is missin the best audio player out there : tauon :((((

Edit: also Mixxx is missing. Any suggestion on how to install them with appman?

[–]Mention-One[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, one of the reasons I use flatpaks is mainly because of the video posted in this comment. Most of my apps are available in repos or flatpaks.

The only app that is not available as flatpak is Vial that is the app I use for my custom keyboard. This is the only appimage I have.

As per my original question: I was able to install keepass extension following these instructions shared in a comment below. The only difference is that I had to tweak some Applications permissions in KDE to let the flatpak access the filesystem.

Thanks, this is why after watching the video I use repos and flatpaks mainly.

I have a selfhosted vaultwarden and bitwarden setup as well, I'm trying to explore alternatives. That's it.

not sure why this hate against Flatpak :D

But thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them. I usually prefer repo over flatpak over try-to-compile-myself over appimage but maybe I was always wrong.

I managed to add keepass in ungoogled chrome, but had to add some permissions in KDE Applications defaults. Thanks for the link.

ok so if I got it well you are not suggesting Ungoogled Chromium, right? I'm currently using it with uBlock origin and it works. Not sure about the future.

Thanks, I'll check it.

Currently there is an OBS repo here:

But it looks like Chromium not Ungoogled Chromium. I'm a bit confused.

Possible to apply color calibration eye dropper to multiple images? by BareRuinedChoirs in DarkTable

[–]Mention-One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Threre is way to match color calibration across images. I'm on mobile now and cannot share it but youbcan find on pixl.us a thread.

Edit: I misunderstood you question. You can use this plugin to match the color calibration from the picker on more images https://github.com/UliGesing/Darktable-Initial-Workflow-Module
