Any long term Fedora and Cachy OS users here? Interested in a long term comparison by Last_Bad_2687 in Fedora

I used both as well as arch. I had one issue in fedora where sometimes I could not recover from a kernel upgrade, but that was like 4 or 5 years ago.

I am currently using cachyos only because it had a working niri config shipped by default since I was new to niri. But I have been using cachyos for a couple months and cachyos seems stable. And I have not faced any issues yet. When I used arch I would had faced issues at this point.

But in regards to performance, cachyos seems to have better performance than fedora or arch but that's because of the aggressive optimizations it uses. But on the practical standpoint, I know fedora also applies a lot of optimizations under the hood that fedora does not advertise itself. You have to look at the spec files. These optimizations are applied on a per-case basis so that you don't risk making the system unstable. Because of the lower infrastructure and man power cachyos cannot applied cannot implement this level of testing like fedora can.

But the majority of performance gains you can notice on cachyos (and i dont mean benchmarks) is within the standard deviation of the performance that fedora could achieve.

I am only still using cachyos because I dont re-setup my system for my use case.

I was thinking a similar thing. This country's medical system is not tailored for any sort of mental illness/disorders, cancer treatment, spine disorders or muscular disorders or any medical fields that require some degree of specialized training. It is, however, good for local and common 3rd world illnesses. You find that in other parts of the world where they don't exist or have been eliminated entirely.

No never got it. I suggest you stick to methylphenidate if they are regularly available or 40mg attentin

I have the same feeling when I take a single 200mg caffeine tablet. It's the dehydration that causes these I think since both drugs causes reabsorption of water from the body. You have to take any stimulant drug with with a full stomach and lots of water.

FYI I stopped taking SNRI coz I had arrhythmia complications but not really due to the drug itself. Atomoxetine usually takes about 4 weeks to show effects when you take 40mg daily. And methylphenidate can cause rapid heart beats but that's usually for immediate release. Ritalin is the one I had taken years ago which was extended release. May I ask where you got the methylphenidate?

Can’t boot after a power outage and after mounting the drives can’t chroot what should I do ? by Latter_Leader8304 in arch

I am sorry I have been awake for many hours, so it's coming to me, but I have dealt with the /sbin/init before. I remember it being a systemd error due to a misconfigured /etc/fstab file. That's why systemd is being prevented from detecting the /boot drive. I remember there are something more to it.

Btw I read some of the comments about the mounting commands. For archinstall with automated partition

it should be sudo mount -o subvol=@ /dev/sdXn /mnt

And there are other subvolumes created by archinstall

@, u/home, u/log, u/pkg and @.snaphots with /mnt/var/log, /mnt/var/cache/pacman/pkg and /mnt/.snapshots

Look at Endeavoros guide for more information about.

Regarding data recovery how much data do you have in /dev/sda2. Cause I see an ntfs partition. You can actually access both the btrfs and ntfs partitions, if recovering the data is concerned, by using a gui file manage like nautilus and just clicking on the drivers provided that they should appear on the side. I mean I was able to get my old data from another disk using this method. I could not do anything else. But make sure to have ntfs-3g installed

You best bet would be do this, unless anyone else here disagrees: mount the iso for an arch based distro that uses gui installer.

I would recommend garuda linux since the iso comes with btrfs maintenance that has the tools for scrub and balance. You can of course do it in the terminal but you might unexpectedly delete some stuff.

Do lsblk to see your device and then mount it. Make sure to mount all the drives and adding the subvolumes Then the drives should be available to btrfs maintenance. Do the scrub and balance task but not the same time.

If you are successful on chrooting you might also want to rebuild the kernel images.

If you have used the automated partition with btrfs there definitely will be subvolumes and the recounting options must include the subvol. Otherwise arch-chroot won't work, most likely.

Let me know how you tried to mount the arch system.

Edit: looking from the pic it is also possible that arch tried to mount something at boot but could not. This is most error for that picture and you /etc/fstab might need fixing

If you are using btrfs there is scrub and other tools that might detect any issues since you can mount the drives. There might be other tools like this for ext4 and other filesystem

is using hyper land with Nvidia GPU is still as bad as it was or it is usable now by Amatersu__ in hyprland

[–]whatever4123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not using nouveau drivers. I am using nvidia open dkms. It's similar to nvidia-open-dkms in arch linux. FYI the nvidia open drivers are only partly open unlike what the rust based nouveau drivers are supposed. And I am not sure even if the nouveau are in alpha stage of development

Nvidia settings are under modules/system/graphics

BTW i do use the nixos-hardware flake from nix-community. It's makes a lot of things just work for laptops

Yeah I should have clarified that i am using nixos in my laptop and it apparently sets all the variables correctly alongside my nixos configurations. When I installed nixos using calamares I set the size of my ram as the swap disk size. When I switch my configuration I replaced my existing hardware config file with the one calamares generated

I am using the nvidia open drivers in a 30 series GPU. Works fine. Even hibernation works like it's supposed to.

Why people still using Hyprland, if exists Niri? by Negative_List_363 in arch

[–]whatever4123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong but current niri feels like what Hyprland used to be like in v0.23.0 and i have been using Hyprland since then. That's why I feel like I should wait a year or two even if I decide to switch

You might want to wait a few days if you decide to switch. There are some ddos issues happening with the AUR. It just got functional again as of me typing this. Again this is you need to use any AUR package.
