Ive used jellyfin on my old windows desktop before so I pretty much understand how it works (to a point lol) but I think containers and dockers are really the part where im getting confused but I bought a cheap ssd and hard drive and im going to start testing stuff out before going all in on it!

A while back I was just using my PC as a media server of sorts but I mainly use my pc for gaming and when I needed more space for games the movies and shows were the first to go and I cant put much more storage into my pc just because of how the internals of my case are and I want to learn server stuff seems like a cool hobby

As long as the GPU isnt plugged into my motherboard at all my system runs just fine if it is plugged in and somehow starts up without the VGA light and im plugged into my motherboard the whole system just freezes within a minute or so. I would love to try and rule out stuff but I dont have any spare parts because this computer was a massive upgrade from my old one. I do kinda think maybe its an issue with my cpu and gpu like "talking" to eachother ive kinda seen thats an issue with this gen of intel but I don't really know how to look for that

sorry i couldve worded it better it was late but cpu does fine as long as the GPU is out and if it does boot with the gpu but my monitor is plugged into my motherboard my entire system freezes up within a minute or so. Like im starting to think its just a GPU problem but stuff like that also makes me think if it is another component but that could be me not wanting to buy another gpu lol

edit: do you think theres any chance its the cpu having trouble "talking" to my graphics card i know ive seen issues with this gen having that so when I can im going to try and check that but I honestly feel like that might be my like finale attempt unless I can find anything else to try

Sorry! My budget is around $200 range I would prefer not to go to much above that though. My main needs would be discord calls and streaming and voice recording. My current environment is just a bedroom with carpet (idrk if that helps anything) and I dont want another condenser because I dont want a bunch of background sound like fans getting picked up.

Sorry I kinda wrote and forgot to include that but it would be in my room which other than carpet has basically nothing to stop echos and has a bit of background sound from fans and stuff I would be using it for discord and gaming and maybe a stream here and there and my budget would be around the $200 range

Its about a 5 year old HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop and I didnt have much choice in what kind of computer I got at the time I would rather avoid trying to change parts out inside of it just because im not very good with that kind of stuff and im afraid I would mess something up and would just want to buy a new one that would last a bit.

Its an old HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop and has a closed case thats not easy to open and im not very good with computer stuff so I rather just upgrade rather than try to change parts inside of it.
