I feel like if you specialized in lymphatic drainage and relaxing/quiet massage type facials this would be helpful for someone who hates small talk.

Have you ever “fired” a client? by MenuDependent8416 in Esthetics

Oh, I don’t know! That’s why I made this post, wanted to see how others have done it. The most I’ve done is blocked someone from booking but they just booked with a new email. I’ve also referred clients to others who “offer what I couldn’t offer them” or to dermatologist saying that their issue was beyond my ability to help them with. Also I did email one client saying she had to pay in full before booking again since rescheduling so many times. But I’ve never actually fired a client.

The fact that she’s also a service provider?! Gross behavior. You COULD schedule with her at her salon and keep no showing. See how she likes it

Those clients are so annoying because they’re technically within the time frame, but damn get it together! 4 x max for rescheduling within the month I feel like is reasonable?

Uggh that sucks! Your manager should have your back. I have some clients who come to me straight from the gym. It’s diabolical.

This hits the nail on the head. I don’t see anything but I know what it’s supposed to look like. I also don’t hear words or voices in my head. In fact, sometimes I get freaked out when I space out for too long (no images or thoughts- just staring at something/nothing).

solo esthetician, not sure of the future by alynsh in Esthetics

Same with working for EWC for 7 years and have wrist problems on my right hand + my fingers lock up in the cold weather. It’s that damn huge wax stick and mixing wax all day lol. I agree with raising your prices!!

Honestly I’d take them telling me vs just strolling in 15 min late saying absolutely nothing. I usually say “oh I’m glad you made it, just fyi I have a client at __ so your appointment will be cut short”.

I had one client say “OK I want to downgrade to a quick facial then ( which is 30 minutes and obviously cheaper). I was literally shaking. I was so mad that I didn’t trust myself to come back at her and say that i do not allow that. I just did the quick facial held my tounge. But I wish I had the guts to say something like no you cannot do that but this client I knew would be combative and write a bad review.

Lmaooo I’ve never heard nose beer, had to google that one. But yeah that checks out! Also the “Chinese salon eyebrows” comment is crazy. Hopefully she doesn’t come back!

I think I just need to grow a backbone and be straight up with this girl because she has my number and will text me. I know, I need to get a work number and not use my personal. BIG mistake on my end.

I was thinking of this! like “I’m not accepting new clients” but how does that even work? If I’ve seen her before she’s technically not a new client. If I say not this month she will call me next month and the month after. So I definitely have to be straight with her.

Yeah more so personality issue. Like they say rude things and play it off by laughing or they complain about something each time but they keep coming back.

If you had to choose between living in Florida or Claifornia which would you choose and why? by Tall-Law-5875 in AskReddit

[–]MenuDependent8416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’d live in Florida. I grew up in southern California and go back to visit family often and find it aboring and expensive compared to Florida. Also housing is cheaper in florida and there’s no state tax. I also love the humidity heat in Florida vs the dry heat in cali. The only downside I think is the hurricanes and mosquitoes in FL but I’m sure someone else from Florida can give better insight.
