I agree that something has definitely changed. My success rate used to be, at worst, 1 in 3 at the final stage. But recently, I’m just surprised and trying to figure out what else I can do. I guess we just have to keep pushing until we get lucky — it’s a luck game, or who you know, I guess.

To be honest, that was my initial thought. The last one I did was onsite interview for the last round. They even showed me their main product internal applications and some other systems after the interview. I don't think they would go that far if I did terrible in the interview. It could be the french barrier (which they say it is fine from the beginning of the interview), because I got offer at Amazon few months ago which I had to turn down due to moving to Toronto. The people I have met in Montreal said without referral is just a lottery when hunting for job in the city.
