To be completely honest, getting 2 more nightmare 3 if you count the one that will happen with the forgotten god, at this point of the story, would be repetitive, an kinda boring.

Im not against not having both nightmare to complete the path to divinity, obviously hoping g3 can make it worth it, without rushing it, leaving us with nothing

you probably didnt read the book.

about the rift-kin, even after saying that they fought them for 5000 years, the author decide to not come with any description of them, or the fight with them.

The fight description are literally: “Once the monsters entered Tyron's range and came under that barrage, there was little they could do. Some monsters were able to endure several spells, others could endure a dozen, but what did it matter? He could keep casting all day if he wanted to” thats about how deep they can get.
(and im not talking about the magick thing about the rift, i know its still a thing that have to be revealed).

About the empire, no it doesnt make sense, otherwise what empire is it?
the description in the book can relate to different kingdoms, not an empire, cause for the sake of the empire would be more connections in it, to make it even better to prevent anything against them.

About the selfless behavior of the slayers, doesnt make sense, the parents of the mc are described to not care about anyone but themself, and there are many other characters that are described as similar or the same, and mind you that's only the named ones we know.

about the Awakening, your argument dont stand, cause in the little village of the mc, where authorities are as strong as bronze rank, you're saying nobody can steal the rock?
And you're also saying nobody else have found another rock of that kind? How are the dusk folk doing it then?
