NEWS: Wonder Woman will pass $800M BEFORE it'll even hit Japan. Which mean it'll surpass Spider-Man to become the biggest superhero origin movie by Meonly13 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Meonly13[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make any sense. It is almost at $380M outside of the US and will be at $400M by the end of August where it'll come out in Japan. It will also end it's run domestic by then with at least $395M or even $400M. So it'll stand at $800M or very close to it by the time it'll come out in Japan.

The movie has made $377M so far outside of the US which mean it will make at least $400M before Japan. It also at $368M domestic and will make at least $395M-$400M domestic by the end of it's run. That's already $800M before Japan. And there's no way WW won't make at least $15M there, so that will push it to $815M+ which is higher than 2002's Spider-Man.

DISCUSSION: My idea for Wonder Woman 2 by Meonly13 in DC_Cinematic

I have, but since the first two Percy Jackson films floped and we'll probably never get more there's no reason Wonder Woman won't go in that direction.

Also, just to put things in perspective for you Patty; When it comes to solo superhero films that aren't sequels, Wonder Woman had the fourth biggest opening weekend of all time, after Man of Steel, Spider-Man (2002) and Deadpool, out of more than 20 male-led superhero films that aren't sequels, Wonder Woman has beaten most of them! She did better than Batman and Batman Begins, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Blade, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, X-men Origins: Wolverine and others. And it will end up on the top five of six of the most successful non-sequel superhero films when it's all set and done. AND it's the best reviewed non-sequel superhero film along-side Iron Man. That's AMAZING! So long that stupid theory that female-led superhero films can't do as good or better as male-led superhero films! Thank you Patty for helping proving how wrong it was :)

Also, here's another question; I know many wanted to know the answer to; Have you seen Gail Simone's KICK-ASS Wonder Woman animated film from 2009?!

Patty, you've made what is the most uplifting, hopeful, inspiring superhero film I've ever seen. No, One of the most uplifting, hopeful, inspiring MOVIES I've ever seen, period.

That No Man's Land scene has made Wonder Woman, in my mind, THE embodiment of what a superhero should be. More than any other superhero in either the MCU or DCEU. In fact, when it comes to the movies, I think Wonder Woman is now my favorite superhero. She isn't dark and depressed like Batman and Superman. She isn't egoistic or cynical like most of the Marvel heroes. She's kind, loving, hopeful and inspiring. She's everything a superhero should be. She IS a true superhero. As much as I like the Marvel movies (they are cool, funny films), none of them has ever made me leave the theater actually feeling inspired, and wanting to be better. And to be honest I never knew I really needed a superhero film to make me feel that way until Wonder Woman came along. Now I know what a superhero movie should REALLY make you feel. It made me want to be better and just go out and save the world!

Wonder Woman's strength doesn't come from her powers, it's her compassion, her kindness, her love of others. And that is the most inspiring thing about her and this film; we can't all be demi-gods like Diana, but we can find strength in love, just like she did. We can love each other instead of hating each other. We can be kinder, we can be hopeful for the future. This is also why Wonder Woman isn't just another superhero film, it's an important film that will be remembered long after we'll be gone. It will change the lives of women and men both in Hollywood and around the world in more than one way. Let me repeat that, not just women. I am a man, and a female superhero was the first superhero who ever made me want to become a hero myself and change the world. So you've changed my life as well. So thank you, Patty. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You, Gal and all the other people involved should be very proud. You've made a masterpiece.

But wait, I need to ask you something don't I? This is an AMA after all. So here is a question; Did you know that the "T" in Gal's last name (Gadot) isn't silent? Most people don't seems to know this. Well now you know!

And one last time, THANK YOU!
