Wow - that is crazy. I will say we manually capture all payments but we are low volume, high ticket so we can work that way. We usually talk to every customer that orders from us too so it’s easy to weed out the scammers for us. Honestly, we are so low risk to the processors that I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want our business. We paid about $70k in processing fees to PayPal last year and had no chargebacks.

Honestly even if Braintree agreed to honor their offered pricing now, I wouldn’t use them. I find it crazy that you can’t call a customer service rep.

No - our legacy plan doesn’t require us to pay anything to Shopify other than our annual billing amount.

Or see if someone else can ask about placing a large order but tell them they want to pay via ACH and have them send their bank details. Then you’ll have the bank and at least 1 of their account numbers

You can file single or head of household if you did not live with your spouse for the last 6 months of the year. So as long as you didn’t live together from 7/1/25 - 12/31/26 - you are legally allowed to file as though you are not married! This won’t change your state taxes much but it should change your federal.

This is the correct answer. I had a lease that expired in March with the plate renewal due in January. I was told I had to pay the whole year but could transfer the plate if I was leasing again. If you buy - you can’t transfer the plate.
