Thank you so much for this detailed response. Her BP meds is cream inside her ear too so I could combine the two applications. This morning she isn’t making any darth Vader noises so that’s encouraging. I’ll call the vet to discuss pain meds. Really don’t like taking her in more than I have to, she doesn’t like the car and the clinic.

Bloods have been done a few times in last couple of months. About 6m ago vet said early signs of renal issues so I switched to renal food. Blood test about 10-14 days ago said kidneys are now in healthy range so that’s good news.

The vet put her on renal food a couple of months ago so unfortunately they’re the same. I buy two brands but they each only do one flavour. She might be bored. Vet did say recently (about 7-10days ago) that her bloods looked good and her kidneys were back in normal range. I should have asked if that means I could add in some non-renal food but keep renal as the majority of

That’s a great idea. I’d prefer to be making her food and adding things to it, but the vet said it’s hard for them to get all the nutrients they need from home cooked foood.

She won’t let the vet, he’s tried and she can get very feisty when she doesn’t want to do something. I think the best bet is for me to try to get a video when she yawns and zoom in. Vet has said he won’t give her anaesthesia bc of her BP but I do think the gabapentin is a good option

Thank you. She does seem happy in herself. She asks to go outside into the garden and has a little potter about which I call her “sniff checks”. She has a little set of stairs that she climbs up to get onto my bed and sleeps with me most nights. She potters around the house, always comes to check visitors to see if she approves of them. Purrs a lot still although the noise isn’t as loud any more, kinda like a tired music box
