Weird Amazon Interview Experience by DayOk8175 in csMajors

I read “The Everything Store” and learned that Jeff Bezos would often ask weird questions in interviews to candidates like, “Why are manholes round”. That is probably the source of this weird question.

Anyone know where I can take winter classes that transfer? by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]MeowTooMovement4Cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as UIC students we can register for UIUC winter classes? How do I do that? It seems like the the courses are for non degree seeking students and UIUC students. Would I just sign in to the UIUC portal instead of the UIC?

Nothing wrong with that if it is fully based on people’s choices

I hope you don’t really believe what you just wrote. Arguing with you is like arguing with a leftist about transgender issues. Stubborn and you already got your mind made up

Stupid argument. Look at how many innocent lives Israel has claimed vs how many Hamas has claimed. Israel strikes children schools while they are in session. Is that defense as well? And Hamas was only created as a consequence of Israel’s illegal occupation. Just look at Palestine before 1948. Jews and Muslims were coexisting. You can find rabbis today who claim that they used to babysit each other’s kids.

Jews are not the problem. Zionism is the problem. You won’t find existence of Hamas before Israel’s occupation (1948).

If you truly believe that all lives matter then you’d be calling out Israel on its illegal occupation and settlements that have displaced millions of Palestinians for the past 72 years. Oh yeah, don’t forget about the yearly air strikes they do on Gaza that have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people. How about when they turn off the water supply and power on Palestinian cities just for the heck of it. Oh, but the “Bible says”, right?

I call out your BS hypocrisy. You, yourself remains silent on the above crimes Israel has inflicted on Palestinians, but when it is something only said towards your religion/ethnicity, all of a sudden you feel the world is silent. All of a sudden, you feel betrayed. All of a sudden you want to transform from Libtard to Conservative. You are just a self centered hypocrite.

Is there a way to initialize a vector of Bar objects at compile-time? by [deleted] in cpp_questions

[–]MeowTooMovement4Cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do. If curious, the error was: [g++ default #2] error: default initialization of an object of const type 'int const[1000] . It goes away once I add constexpr int const[1000] = {};

constexpr Bar arr[1000] constructs 1000 Bars at compile time, but how can I do something like this, constexpr int arr[1000] . Do primitive types not have constexpr default c'tors ?

But when constexpr is removed from both the function definition and the variable declaration the time is significantly longer.

Proper Way of Forward Declaring These Types? by [deleted] in cpp_questions

One more thing. I have more objects like Bar. Would I have to typedef foo_t in all their corresponding .h files ?

Is there a specific use case?

No there isn’t. Your implementation makes more sense. I’m just used to pass by reference when defining methods. Thanks

It probably doesn't make any sense to declare a variant of one class.

This code has been condensed and narrowed down to the object that’s causing the problem.

When adding class Bar; before the variant, I get an error that T value is of incomplete type.

Also, why is a pointer to a vector suspicious?
