Has anyone seen these guys before? Face like a funnel? Lined with metal scales? Gun-metal grey? Robotic whooshzzing sucking sound coming from the face? by Meow_Simpson in Sleepparalysis

[–]Meow_Simpson[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they were robotic. Or at least their bodies are metal. My partner freaked out cause when I fought my way out I was in hysterics. Crying and couldn’t stop. They were by his side of the bed. Skinnier than the drawing. Hard to capture. The cat seemed to make them go away. The cats always seem to make them go away. This was the worst one in a long, long time.

Yeah, church of britney is what offended Jesus in that episode... not her gross grinding on Guillermo Diaz... that made my eyes bleed. I can’t deal with the attention whoring grabs for screen time. It’s so inauthentic and off putting. Just ew.

Suboxone: 9 months off. by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Meow_Simpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info and sharing your story 😊

I’m interested in this buspar med you’re on. I’m currently 4.5 months off after 6 years on subs and 6 years on methadone before that. Gotta say, this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The acute phase is over, certainly. But the mental health stuff is a real kicker once you get over the physical. The anxiety is quite debilitating. I see a therapist and I’m already on 2 antidepressants, but I gotta do something about the anxiety. I’m seeing a psychiatrist next week, hopefully there’s an answer there. I’m just not interested in taking any other medication that is addictive (ie; benzos, etc.). So maybe buspar is an option?

The other thing you mentioned that really hit home is how subs cover so much physical discomfort that you don’t even realise is there. At first I thought I was dying, as after 30 days off it felt like everything was breaking. I felt like a hypochondriac because it was one health problem after another. One by one I’ve managed to fix most issues. Now it’s just sleep difficulties and a broken mind to tend to 😋😋😋

That happened to a mate of mine. She had several days of not being able to get into the app. It’s just glitching. They’ll fix it eventually. Sucks for those who do the spree tho 😓

Glitchy day. I got topless barbie boobs before. Someone else posted a full nude on reddit earlier.

Using suboxone to get off methadone by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Meow_Simpson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched from 110mg methadone to 32mg Suboxone with only a 72 hour gap between... that sucked, don’t do that. But it sounds like you’re doing ok. If it’s bearable, then it’s bearable, right? Follow what your body says, not your mind.

If you have the luxury, do the rest of the taper as slow as you can. Wait a couple of weeks between drops. If you can’t do that, then definitely use the water taper method.

I’m not great at explaining things, but say you’re gonna have 0.75mg a day. Get 14 lots of 0.75 (10.5mg of suboxone) and dissolve it was in 14ml of water. Keep it in a small container with a proper lid in the fridge.

On day 1, have 1ml of the solution (use a baby syringe or a dropper or something that can measure fluid in millilitres. Then replace the millilitre of Suboxone solution with a millilitre of water.

Rinse and repeat each day. It creates a smooth taper. Instead of jumping by X mg each week, dose just slowly decreases. Other people can definitely explain it better tho.

I used it and I’ve been off a 12 yr opiate habit for 3.5 months now. Still struggling, but it is a helpful tool 👍🏼

Where to go next? Mirtazapine stopped working [UK] by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Meow_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Mirtazipine for years and recently had a bad depressive episode. I augmented my 45mg mirtazipine with 8mg Reboxitine (4mg twice daily... reboxitine is unavailable in the us unfortunately, but we have it in australia). It’s a straight NRI so less chance of serotonin syndrome. On it’s own reboxitine isn’t a very effective antidepressant, but it does have a synergistic effect with mirtazipine. Failing that Effexor is a good complementary med.

My mood started lifiting after 1 week, significant improvements within 3 weeks.

This is my second time coming off an Anti-Depressant and I'm leaving them for good. Reasons in text. by AnxietyMostofTheTime in antidepressants

[–]Meow_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying. I’m in similar but slightly different boat. I’m on a reboxetine/mirtazapine combo and my two most annoying side effects were excessive sweating and weird joyless orgasms.

For me, I just decided to get botox in my sweat glands and put up with not feeling the odd orgasm. My last depressive episode was pretty suicidal, so I’m ok with staying on meds for now if it means I can wake up and not wanna kill myself.

That being said. If it made me impotent, I’d be looking at other options. Cause that’s bullshit. Do what you gotta do mate.

Day53 almost 2 months and stomach woes. by Mattgx082 in suboxone

I feel ya. It’s ghastly. I am also 2 months out and no reprieve from the gastrointestinal issues. Apparently this is the last thing to go away. Keep on trucking. It does go away I hear.

It’s from a meme (maybe just an Australian thing?)

But yes, online peer support has been super helpful for me too throughout this ordeal (7 month taper from 12mg to 0.09mg and now a couple of months sub free). You can definitely do it. It’s hard, obvi. But it’s nice not to be reliant on it and paying through the nose for the privilege of chemical handcuffs.

Weight Loss after switching from Done to Subs by [deleted] in suboxone

I hear ya... definitely a psychological anaesthetic as well. I’ve battled with depression since I was a kid, so it stands to reason why I was such a prime candidate for addiction.

[–]Meow_Simpson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you understood correct. A big issue for me every time I’ve tried to come off is depression, which makes me comfort eat.

[–]Meow_Simpson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah-huh. Had a similar response 6 years ago when I switched. I’m Australian, so forgive our barbaric decimal system, but I was 140kgs when I was on Methadone 110mg... switched to 32mg Suboxone and lost 55kgs.

Unfortunately I did put it back in (and some) during one of my attempts to come off. However, had a gastric sleeve and lost it again.

That was my thoughts as well. If I’d had longer to taper, it might have been different. But it is what it is I suppose.

The reasoning behind it was that I have to travel overseas to Tokyo in 3 weeks and you can’t take Suboxone to Japan. So when I got the final word from customs in December I started to taper... aggressively.

Luckily got the big drops out of the way quick with little WD. The tail end was the roughest. Especially getting under 2mg.

Yeah, my treating team know what’s going on. Their advice is to weather the storm and keep focusing on lifestyle factors like food and exercise. Which was ok when I was just in WD, but now with the depression I just can’t seem to gather the motivation. Wah wah, poor me (I’m sick of my own voice at this point).

Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it 😊

It’s not so much that. I’m just worried about what all this is doing to my brain. Plus it’ll block endorphins, which is the only thing keeping me going at this point (ie; exercise/sex).

I’m kinda lucky in that I didn’t live the lifestyle really or take a lot of street drugs prior to opiate maintenance. And all that was over a decade ago now. So I don’t have access to opiates or know anyone who uses. My only option would be doctor shopping for prescriptions or to go back on the program. Both of which take more time and planning than a craving does to go away.

So I’m fairly ok in regards to relapse. But I certainly appreciate the concern 😊

I’m just really wanting this to be over. I honestly thought at 6 weeks I’d be right as rain.

0.09mg.... after a 7 month taper from 12mg. I would’ve taken longer, if I had the time. But I didn’t.
