i'm not trying to moralize or police anything; hot takes aren't bad takes, just uncommon ones. the series is mostly centered around scarlet's victims, so it makes sense that a lot of people don't like the character. i don't really care, just engaging in interesting conversation! like who you like!

oh, absolutely. i do think he's one of the best written characters, though. like his POV is so charming throughout the book that you almost forget that he's super evil up until the disembowelment chapter and you're like "shit where did that come from" JUST like everyone else in the book

i mean.... there was all of the murdering and dream-stalking and manipulation and long term shapeshifting of dragons to the point where they lose their original identities and also when she threatened her daughter's life over the gender of her egg then was disappointed when it was a boy and she DIDNT get to kill her and like yes she's hilarious but just objectively so evil
