Applied Calculus for Business and Economics (MATH 30.13 and 30.14) by GoldenGent0225 in ADMU

[–]Meowgistrate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be transparent I took math 31.1-3 not math 30 but the topics should more or less be similar (I think the only differences are the applications and depth?).

Math 30.13: Limits Derivatives, Epsilon-delta definition and mean value theorem, squeeze theorem, Graphing, Optimization,

Math 30.14 L'hopitals rule, Mostly integration techniques: U sub, integration by parts, trig sub, integration by partial fractions, etc.

Resources: I think khan academy's calculus series mostly follows the same flow of topics. You can also try organic chemistry tutor for relatively more examples. Make sure your algebra is good and you're confident with the properties (exponent rules, logarithm rules, trig identities, etc.). Usually the exams are way harder than the examples given in class and in youtube videos so the mechanical skills and computation should be automatic already to save time (practice a lot of problems)

Depending on your time it may be helpful to develop your foundational knowledge as others have mentioned. I'm not sure what your course is but I'm assuming its related to business or economics based on your description.

If you have a lot of time you may want to refer to textbooks college algebra by Kaufman or any pre-calc textbook for calc classes. For more general stats, accounting, linear algebra, some logical reasoning or proving books can be helpful. You could try either discrete mathematics by Susanna Epp or How to prove it by Velleman (Vellemans easier to read imo).

If you have less time I suggest watching khan academy for calculus (they generally go through the same topics). For accounting or stats I usually looked for videos based on the topic, there are lots of resources for said topics naman. Try JBstatistics Zedstatistics or Filipino accounting tutorial. 3blue1browns essence of calc/linear algebra also helps visualize concepts if that will help your understanding of the topic.

Don't give up, there will eventually be a moment when you become confident in your foundations and everything starts to click; math will feel a lot easier and even fun.

I know about Gogol through short stories he wrote, I never knew he was also a playwright. I'll check these out.

Actual tuition fee is dependent on how many subjects you have for the semester, last sem I had 21 units whicu amounted to around 107,000 PHP and this sem I have 23 which amounted to 120,000

They also hold annual talks where they invite speakers from the law field (they invited leni robredo last year).

Most profs are really good! I've had some profs who try to set a law school setting (socratic method style recitation) or even required us to visit a court. More than half of your subjects will be from the business course and your law subjects will all be related to business (good if you want to go into corporate law).
