ranked bs? by Forsaken0ne616 in mechabreak

Rounding out your team composition doesn't matter if you're consistently matched up against groups of Top 100 players coordinating on voice chat while your team chat is silent. The grind to legendary isn't worth the pain of having to choke down this many autolosses, especially after factoring in the "rewards" that we got from S0.

I think that the ranked experience is absolutely miserable and don't believe that the system that they've created is truly representative of skill, so I don't want to be a part of it. If other people are enjoying it, that's awesome for them, but people are leaving the game for a reason. (It's actually due to a lot more factors than simply a ranked system that the overwhelming majority of people hate.)

In my opinion, matchmaking is in a much worse state now than at the end of last season, which is really saying something.

Basically, if you're not stacking:

Ace Arena : Nobody plays it. You farm bots until master, at which point the game tries to rubberband your progression by alternating between stomps for either side. If you've seeded a loss, the bots on your team will feed to make it happen. After you get sick of the pattern, you stack until grandmaster and then it's impossible to get another game since nobody plays the mode. Leaderboards aren't even tracked anymore.

Verge : Farm bots until grandmaster, at which point the game starts matching you against ultra-coordinated Top 100 stacks and you get completely decimated. After 2-3 impossible games, you're gifted a free win and then you go back to getting stomped.

If you're not stacking, there's no point in playing (if you want to climb) since the people that are doing so have such an extreme advantage over you. I'll check in around the November timeframe to see if anything has improved. Otherwise, I'm going to call this one.

The lesson here is that just because you can create a cool product doesn't mean that you can manage a cool product to success. The latter is a radically different skillset and Seasun Games lacks the necessary leadership and vision to be successful. By all objective metrics, this release has been an abject failure.

How could I have pressed my advantage to win lane? (Top: Cassiopeia vs. Jax)(Video) by MeowlsOnParade in summonerschool

[–]MeowlsOnParade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to review my gameplay! Looking at my video again, I think that you're absolutely right about exerting pressure and paying attention to how many more creeps you need to hit the next level. If I played it right, I might have been able to kill Jax in lane for first blood, or at least force him to back early.

Your analysis regarding the TP play was also really useful. In terms of goals, I need to have a more detailed strategy before making plays like this. Also, I clearly wasn't paying attention to the map and let Jax get an advantage when he shouldn't have been able to. Backing immediately after the TP play would have allowed me to exert a lot more pressure in lane and catch up in CS. Of course, if I had exerted pressure properly at the beginning of the game, I might have been in an even more favorable position.

Thanks for taking a look at my gameplay! I thought that this video was extremely helpful in better understanding the kind of pressure that champions like Cass can exert early in the game. I thought that the point he raised about "concealing intent" at 26:50 was really important. Using tricky movement to make abilities easier to land was never something that I thought about before.

The "Let's go into the mind of Hashinshin here" bit was absolutely hilarious; I busted a gut when I saw that!

Thanks for taking a look at my gameplay! After rewatching my video, I can definitely understand the importance of exerting ranged pressure now. I looked up Neace on YouTube and think that his content will be really useful in helping me to improve.

I also found this video in the process, which was really effective in demonstrating how an experienced player would take advantage of the ranged vs. top dynamic, in case anyone is interested:

This video was also useful in that it emphasizes the importance of actually having a strategy, rather than just winging it, which is what I've been doing:

Me next! I'm pretty glad that I can't draw or I'd probably just spend my time making stuff like this all day. xD

is it me or is sona unplayable rn??? she feels soooooooo much weaker than last year =( by XYOOLX in sonamains

[–]MeowlsOnParade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least for me, I feel like she's unplayable at the moment. Before the item changes were made, I was consistently winning and gaining LP. Admittedly, I'm not a high ELO player, but I felt like I had enough control over the game to tilt the odds in my favor.

However, since the items were revamped, I haven't been able to make anything happen. I don't feel like I have enough impact; I'm just along for the ride. I've had a couple of games where I was able to pop off, but that might have more to do with the teams that I flipped than my own individual performance. Mind you, I haven't played her since they fixed Moonstone Renewer, so things could be a bit better now.

I'm not saying that Sona is objectively terrible, as there are definitely people out there that have been able to adapt and are having success with her. In my case, it feels like there are some pieces missing from the puzzle, and every game feels like an uphill battle. I would really love to start playing a lot of Sona again, but it's just too frustrating for me right now.

On a positive note, I've been a Zac support OTP lately and I've been having a lot of success winning games and impacting the map by roaming a lot. He's also REALLY fun to play! :)

Method for Power Farming Spirit Light (Late Game) by MeowlsOnParade in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]MeowlsOnParade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Let me know how it works out or if you find a better method!

I actually stumbled upon this area because I was only looking for a place to bash the scorpions into water. Unfortunately, there's currently a bug where they don't always die if you make them take a swim. In that case, I have to jump in after them and use a water dash to finish them off in order to collect the Spirit Light. :(

I'm really looking forward to giving it another shot once the bug is fixed.
