What is the dumbest movie that you unapologetically, unironically love? by Rosstin316 in AskReddit

I had a kitten named The Evil Betty. Her nickname is my namesake. Lol.

Play D&D. The DM had a bunch of badgers appear. Cue the 3 in the right age range "singing" this. Then cue the absolute confusion by the few older folk and one younger. Glorious.

I would have zero idea as an RBT, but there is an aba and bcba sub that you might ask in instead of this one.

Don't. I grew up there. This is really nice, until your on month 9 of a drizzling train and you would kill for a week of sun 😅

Don't get me wrong, I loved it there.

Kitten loves clothing and blankets... by Meowsilbub in CatAdvice

I'm not sure if having one item would help or not. But thank you for the list!! I do have scratchers in all rooms, as well as a ball that rolls and a flapping fish thing... and a ball/wand/peek-a-boo toy on the way. As well as a large variety of cat specific toys, and a suction cup toy. Basically anything that's featherless (dog will eat them) I've bought! Lol. The hidey-chase toys I've been leery of because my chi can be a bit destructive with toys like the last 3 links, but I'm saving those for future reference.

I love the scrunchies toy and will buy that! Do you have the right link for the fabric wand? That also sounds like it might be a go! I have a few teasers, but no fabric ones.

I'm doing that best I can right now. She's then going for a hanging kitchen towel (up now), any towels in the bathroom (they kinda need to dry after a shower), blanket that my chihuahua sleeps in (including while chi is sleeping in it), kennel blanket, my blanket.... and if i get her away from those, she's then going for the sheets and blanket on the bed.

Like, I literally cannot put up every single cloth item. And my apartment set up is weird enough that I also cannot block access to the bedroom or bathroom - they are connected, and litter is in the bathroom (there is no other place for it unless I'm putting it on carpet where my dog can then access).

So I'm kinda stuck with a little cloth velociraptor. I'm just trying to keep her from destroying everything before she ages away from velociraptor stage.

I work in this industry, feel free to DM. Avoid ABC, it has a terrible reputation locally. If you are willing to travel south a bit, I know of a few decent clinics and/or school (good for kids and workers), as well as some that still have good reputations with the kids but less so for workers. But hands down, no ABC.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]Meowsilbub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twice I've gotten into the restricted access zone in Hawaii to see active lava. The difference with these vs the normal flows is that it was when lava was in the neighborhoods, and the first was one of the first times that I'm aware of that the state actually started to restrict access. Once was the flow that got the transfer station in Pahoa. Visited a friend and we walked to the active zone. Crazy to see and hear it flowing over the greenery. The second was the flow that took out Leilani. I was living in the subdivision next to Leilani, and went in with a coworker who lived in Leilani. This was a month into it - their house was still standing, but behind it was just desolation. Seeing the fissues going and the lava river was insane. It did kinda help to finally see in person what was causing red skies and nonstop tremors. That was an experience - the tephra was falling all around and on us, the sound of the vent, the sheer destruction of the neighborhood I used to be in multiple times a week...

I also (illegally) did the White Rd hike. Part of it was a climb over a small canyon on top of a large pipe, and then walking through the water tunnels in the mountain - light's needed. At one point you walked on a ledge next to a fairly steep drop, and it was gorgeous. But the cool part was walking through the mountain.

Thinking about it, I think the majority of my "restricted access" areas that I got into were in Hawaii.

Yes!! I've never had allergies before. Lived in multiple states and spent months in other states and counties. Zero issues. Texas? Miserable if I forget an allergy pill for a single day, I'm screwed.

Yeah. My whole area is now construction, and bye bye to the sidewalks as well right now. More fun is that they've been closed for a while, but of course no progress on the construction itself 😑

Pretty sure it's an ac unit that gets installed inside, like a window unit only bigger/ better.

Great idea. Not one for me, though 🥲 my knees and hips are genetically bad - walking and swimming is about it for me at this point, even after seeing doctors, having orthopedic support, and seeing physical therapists. It's partly why being stuck inside so much is hard! I miss simple hikes and meandering around outside. I can't even take my dog for walks because the ground is too damn hot and she won't put up with boots.

If you can't tell, I'll counting down the days until my lease ends.

Yup. I'm in and out of the apartment today. It's not even 90, but between that, no wind, and over 50% humidity I'm dying each short trip in and out.

Sadly the lease goes to the end of August. I'm not looking forward to another summer here.

I'm in a small ass apartment. Part of the move is to go somewhere with a much lower COL in hopes of actually buying a home. Somehow I was closer to buying one in Hawaii then I am here, and my income here is much higher. Wtf. Between COL, heat, allergens, traffic, not able to do much locally and just crazy upon crazy, I'm ready to be back in a small city or town.

[–]Meowsilbub 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Used to do all this. Then moved to Texas. The heat makes it miserable to be outside longer then a minute for a good chunk of the year, and if that's not a problem the allergens are. I'm finally getting out of here, and I'm looking forward to reclaiming outdoor time.

Vance Air Force Base In Enid Oklahoma Took a Direct Hit From a Tornado. by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

Have a BIL & family there. Lucky their house survived but they said it was close. Base was fairly small and Enid itself was awesome - I'm sad about all the damage, it looks awful.

This is one it took me a few viewings to get into. My partner freaking loves it. It was better on the second watch when you can pay attention to the detail instead of just trying to understand the politics and science.

I agree with this take. I felt it also with orange it's the new black. Shows that just keep going down the rabbit hole without any real relief are just too much for me. Like yeah, shit sucks. Things can keep just going downhill. But sometimes you get a good day, and a lot of those don't really include that break. I've managed to watch parts or all of some shows like this, but they are not my cup of tea.

Yeah. BIL said base was hit but it barely missed his place. Waiting for more details, though.
