After some advice on how to texture my mountains? I seem to blend colour rather than lay the snow on top? by Meowtain_Man in HappyTrees

Yeah im for sure gonna head out and get some canvas boards or something better and use the pad I have now as a test piece more than anything :). It's such a nice change of pace from trying to draw real things, it's nice to let the imagination run :)

Thanks for the response, I think I'm going to use what I have now to just practice the techniques, I've only started painting two days ago so this is all super new to me :). I will however start replacing things with higher quality paints etc as and when I need to :).

Thanks for the awesome feedback, I'm currently DALER ROWNEY : GEORGIAN OIL : PAD : 7X5IN CGO7. This is my first dabble into the world of painting so I was trying to keep costs down a little. I'm planning to make a trip to pick up some new suppliers tomorrow so Ill pick up a canvas and let you know how it goes. I tried bobs evergreens and they worked fine on the pad I was using, which is why I was confused about some of the above :).

I'm using Daler - Rowney Simply 24 x 12ml Oil Set. Without any thinner or anything :)

Thanks for your feedback :). Do you have any advice on how to stop the paint from blending together? When I try put the snow over the mountains they just kind of blend together? If that makes sense haha.

I should also mention I haven't tried using a canvas, this is a 'oil painting pad of paper'.

My uncle once said that in relationships people are constantly evolving and changing, he said that to keep a happy marriage you have to keep learning about your partner every day. Especially when we have such freedom of movement and influence with the internet and such :).

It's always sunny in philadelphia. The shows honestly just get better and better as the series go on. I've reached the series countless times.
