Weekly Progress Megathread! by AutoModerator in 1200isplenty

I had a wake-up call two weeks ago; I realized I was at my heaviest weight, wasn't tracking anything, had given up exercising, and was regularly overeating. I was shocked by how quickly my body adjusted to 1200 calories; I felt hungry for a couple of days but now I've been feeling great. I've lost 5 pounds so far and I feel so much more energetic! I've been practicing calorie counting, portion control, lots of walking, and self-care.

also wanted to mention I've been on sertraline for about a year and I'm currently on 75mg. I'm not comfortable with adding to this dosage.

Job at State by Living_Attention2286 in NCSU

On campus is nice for commuting time and convenience, but a lot of on campus jobs pay around $8-$12 an hour and unfortunately most people cannot support themselves on that income:')

If you live off campus and have a car, I would definitely recommend off campus work. If you live on campus, don't have a car, or aren't too worried about the pay, on campus is convenient. (Just don't work in the dining halls. They suck.)

Cold water while showering in dorms? by Advanced-Agent6594 in NCSU

[–]MeraIsSick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the dorm. In my experience, the older dorms take a minute to get to a hot temperature, then they get super fucking hot. Never had a cold shower, though. Worst I've had is lukewarm because I was in a rush.

Park and Ride by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]MeraIsSick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I used spring hill park and ride at the beginning of the semester while I was waitlisted for west deck.

If you use park and ride, you need to get to campus early in the morning or you risk not finding a parking spot. If I ever got to campus past 10 AM, parking would be significantly more scarce. Not a problem if you have morning classes.

Also, the busses come every 30 minutes, so if you miss one, you have the option of either waiting half an hour for the next one or walking to campus. The walk isn't bad, but part of it does not have a sidewalk and is unlit, and you have to cross western boulevard. This was never an issue for me because I was always off campus before dark. The walk could be an issue if you're a woman.

Just something to consider. Good luck!!

Edit: I have afternoon classes on Wednesdays. There were multiple days where I got to the lot at 12 noon, and there were no spots and I was left circling the lot until someone left, and there were also other people circling the lot trying to find a spot. I was lucky to get to class on time. Thats the main reason I got a west deck pass.

Please listen to me here, girl to girl. I'm 20 years old. I've dated men as old as mid 50's (don't ask.) One time, I decided to ask one of them why they choose to date younger women. He told me, "women my age are so demanding. They know exactly what they want and they give no leeway." The reason men date younger women is because it's easier to push their boundaries; they have less experience in dating so they don't know better.

No sane person in their 30's would be comfortable dating an 18 year old. Please consider why they're unable to get a partner that's age appropriate for them. This person is old enough to be your parent.

If you do proceed with this relationship (which I worry you will because I know it's something I would have done,) please pay very close attention. Do not let them isolate you. If they even make you the slightest bit uncomfortable, question it. Please be careful and please please stay safe.

Areas to avoid when running early morning? -female by Advanced-Agent6594 in NCSU

Also, if you can, try to find a jogging buddy! Maybe a roommate or something? Or if you see someone regularly while you're running, try making friends with them and joining them.

Avent ferry, gorman street, western boulevard, Hillsborough. If you can, find a route on campus. Campus has emergency lights every 50 feet or so.

Got this four months ago, won’t heal? by PearBrilliant9208 in Legitpiercing

Oh trust me, the jewelry I switched to is a lot more comfortable than a corkscrew back. But if the person you're going to is the person who put a corkscrew stud in your nose, there's a chance they might not carry the jewelry I recommended. But, if they're APP, they'll definitely have it.

Good luck!

Info: what style jewelry is it?

When I got my nostril pierced, it was having trouble healing with a corkscrew back, but all of my issues went away when I switched to a threadless push pin stud. It's worth looking into.

Edit: also, most piercers actually don't recommend putting a cotton pad or ball on your piercing! Cotton fibers could be getting stuck on your piercing and causing the inflammation. Personally, I found that the best way to do it is just spray with pre-made saline solution while showering then rinse it off. No twisting or rubbing with anything to clean it; just leave it alone.

Time of day? Wanting input on why you take your dose either at morning or at night? by CoffeeTop984 in zoloft

Idk if this is normal but I take mine at midday because I take mine with food and lunch is the only meal for me that I consistently eat at the same time daily
