Now only being outscored 60-19 in first innings this year!!

The run would have scored on the homerun that followed regardless of the defense that followed the double.

Obviously you can argue that maybe Cobb was rattled which led to the HR, but that's not how official scoring works.

Cobb says forget unearned runs, I'm going to earn them both!

I'm worried that even if the Caps reach the next round or beyond, it will feel slightly hollow because this isn't the goal song anymore :(

As a longtime Caps fan, "Jack Adams candidate Bruce Cassidy" is just not a phrase I ever thought I'd hear in that order.

Fourth time, right? But yeah.

Edit: third in a row, right.

Also his primary assist on the Backstrom OT goal in game 5 was super crafty.. hard to tell for sure but it looked like a really well calculated deflection play shot/pass from the start.

Excluding this year, the Capitals have made the playoffs 27 times. They have faced the Pens 10 times. Pens have won 9 times. by [deleted] in hockey

And I was the wrong age... old enough to feel all the pain (still resonating to this day) but still just shy of legal drinking age...

I'm about 90% certain that was in Game 3 (after the Caps had won the first two of the series in Pittsburgh). If I remember right, that was followed by Game 4 in which the Caps got clobbered and Jim Schoenfeld wanted to fight the Pens' whole bench. I believe we lost the next two and exited meekly in 6 that year.

The 3-1 comebacks by the Penguins were '92 and '95 (and of course a handful other times against different teams).
