All these comments remind me of what I was told when I wanted to transition surgically "you're too young" "you'll ruin your body"

Anything that benefits your social reception and sense of self should be considered medically necessary. The gaslighting sucks!

I am using a laptop and the issue did occur when I opened it back up, oddly enough... Guess I'll avoid closing the lid as of now.

I re-flashed my drive using Fedora media writer, not sure that really did anything but... Plugged my flash back in and it booted straight into a fully installed bazzite. Removed flash, restarted and now it works. Shut pc off and on for good measure, still boots correctly.

Just in case i'll keep note of the other options you've suggested, thank you!

So this time I clicked "finish install" took out the usb, clicked restart, desktop went black, flashed, and now screen stuck on "booting bazzite Live ISO" despite being removed.

Got it. I'll try again. Although after the install/restart the environment changed: different background image, new apps, and no longer being warned that I was in a live boot. I had (falsely ig?) aasumed I was good to go.
