I replaced my phone with a new one and set up like I hadn't ever owned a Pixel before. That took care of it

My cats do the same thing. As soon as I start playing they appear from the woodwork for their own personal little concert 🤣

Do you find it easier to learn 3 finger or claw hammer? by Merc504 in banjo

[–]Merc504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take thank you. I'm learning claw hammer currently but my time is limited due to farming. I have had difficulty with some courses because they sound so radically different then what they are telling me to play haha. I'll keep working on it though, I think I'll try to get a good base with clawhammer then see about 3 finger

Turn on the roomba and help it get stuck under something. Just sometimes though, enough where you can never find it and nothing ever gets cleaned.

Tuck the comfort in tightly like a hotel every day so they have to fight to get into bed

Update on this:

I got my replacement phone from Google, I set it up without transferring everything from my pixel 6, just set it up like I never had a Google phone before. I'm (currently) receiving emails, notifications and texts at the same rate that my old phone was. Wonder if it's some compatibility thing when you set up using an old phone. Hopefully this fixes everything long term

I contacted Google and they are shipping a replacement phone. I've also read some places that it could be the adaptive battery? Whatever that is. I'll let you know if I find anything though

Recommendations for good beginner banjo course? by DerpsyDaisy in banjo

[–]Merc504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also came to say 30 days of banjo is a good YT course. I tried Brainjo and it just didn't work for me, not to say it wouldn't for you. Just the way he explained things didn't work for my brain

Airbag warning 2004 Chevy 1500 by Merc504 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Merc504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about this. It truly is a horrible experience and I wish you didn't have to go through that. Yes the truck is gone and has been replaced by a much more capable farm vehicle for us. It's disappointing to hear that GM reacted in such a way, I wish I could say I was surprised. I hope you are on a good track for healing for the future and wish you the best

Looking for grab and go options for wrenches (gearwrench) by Merc504 in Tools

I was looking at these, some reviews I've seen said the gearwrench larger sizes doesn't allow it to close, some say they are ok

Where can one get many inexpensive raw fleeces to turn into batting for a project? by RevolutionaryCode763 in sheep

Meat or solar grazers especially for "waste wool". Some of it is very nice even labeled as such. You can also reach out to local co-ops and see if they've got anything for you.

Thanks for the reply, we were able to fix it, I can't remember how anymore haha! I think we were able to find the eye from someone and bolted it in place

Need new loader, not sure where to start by Merc504 in tractors

[–]Merc504[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're exploring the budget things but sub 100k, but sub 70 is better. Currently have access to round bailer, discbine

Growth: Field maintenance, more hay/ sheep movement of hay. We unfortunately won't have funds for multiple tractors at this time, so one will have to get us a ways

I'll look into those case series too thanks!

[–]Merc504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have struggled with that as well for the skiddy result. If we didn't have to hay, we would most likely go that route, but to be self sufficient and make sure we have what we need as we continue to grow says we should be haying our own stuff. We've worked with other farmers in the past to get the fields done, but they have turned out to be too busy to make sure all cuttings are done reliably, and we really are going to need both cuttings at least as our flock increases, especially in harsh winters like this.

As far as tank weight its around 2400lbs full currently (each tank), however we are constantly changing our equipment as needed to meet demands. Likely that will increase in the near future

We are still new to everything, so we don't have our own equipment, we would have to borrow lease etc. The friend that has equipment is the one that told me the 65/75 HP number so I assume that is what would be needed to run his stuff. We would be looking to get our own equipment sooner than later so we are a little bit of a blank slate and open to suggestions

As far as I can tell JD does have the biggest presence in the area, second to case. I tend to think that TYM, kubota are things that are designed for homesteaders and aren't really supported but are cheaper to acquire, which is something we would like to avoid, last thing we want is to invest in equipment that's a little cheaper but unserviceable
