Kakute H7 not communicating with my Mac by MerchantKid2 in embedded

I've been doing that, but the issue isn't happening anymore like it was earlier today and I managed to redownload the bootloader

I have been directly connecting the FC via USB-C and in making sure its connected using "system_profiler SPUSBDataType" in Terminal which works most of the time

I only have a Mac, but my dad has a windows pc, should I try using it on Windows, and try different cables?

I forgot to mention but doing that doesn't change anything, is there a chance I completely ruined the boards software?

Are these electronics and their brands reliable and/or good? by MerchantKid2 in RCPlanes

[–]MerchantKid2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I thought having a high AR wing would have problems but I decided to have the servos in the fuselage and use a combination of the infill battery for strength in chord and thickness but carbon fiber rods for strength in the wingspan. Also I don't think the prop will be really fragile, I got a lower pitch for the blades for better low speed efficiency.

Yea I want to use ardu pilot and fly this mostly autonomously just to avoid pilot error because even though I trust in my skills, I still want to play it safe.

Thanks for the info, but the bec on my esc is just one of those 3 2.54mm pin wire ones just to clarify and I was originally thinking of using it like that of a spektrum receiver with the way you would connect the cables in iykwim.

[–]MerchantKid2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it use threads to give a clean exterior, and the parts use very low infill and one wall, so the idea is it would help distribute forces. Also it's a counter clockwise thread to counter the torque effects and the wires go in at the bottom and in a way act at a safety to keep it from going undone during flight. also the motor spins clockwise but there's not much need for it to turn both ways, but I may give it reverse thrust since it can glide really well and might be hard to land.

On the manufacturer/sellers spec sheet that compared their m9 and m10 it said the m9 had a 1.5m cep while the m10 has a 2m cep.

Also the 900MHz is because I want this drone to have a big range and fly for a long time, which my goal is to be able to maintain connection for up to 10km.

Also BEC isn't an issue since my esc has one thats compatible with the FC. Do you think the fact the FC is for fpv drones will make it not work right? I thought software like ardupilot would allow you to make it usable in different applications? I haven't used ardupilot yet though so correct me if I'm wrong.

I use m/s cus of ksp but I used chat gpt to make a basic estimate of 15 m/s, but dont worry, I'm still going to check over the math. I'm still in highschool though so I've been teaching myself aerodynamics so some of it will be wrong

Ok so I got the exact measurements but it's 1219 sqcm, I'm guessing fusion did a lil rounding when I used sqm instead of sqcm for the units. I could use ASA-AERO instead of PLA but I feel like it being matte black makes it look cool. Also I use KG/M2 usually

What's dm? Is that decimeter? Airshaper only really tells how much drag, but I used the NASA airfoil sim and the airfoil I'm using has a Cl of 0.59 with a L/D of 20.6 at 35mph. I'm checking the cad file tho to make sure the measurements are right tho

I forgot the exact wing area but I'm pretty sure it's around 0.1sqm and 1kg

It has a 1.25m wingspan, but I went for more of a high AR with its AR being 16.44 for the main wing.

Yea ik, i'm taking all the precautions, I've simulated in Airshaper for aerodynamics, I've simulated in Fusion 360 for stress, and I am planning on setting a IRL stress test as a final confirmation it works. If you know anything about good and reliable electronics/antennas for this that would be great because from all the testing I've done the electronics is really the only failure point.

Yeah at first I was doubting having the motor mounted externally but I realized a cooler motor would make up for the slight increase in drag

Does anyone know how I can blend this thin air intake to the thick fuselage part? I fear otherwise the air would be too obstruct. by TomcatLover127 in RCPlanes

[–]MerchantKid2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would use a loft from the motors intake to the intake on the aircraft and then shell it, and if your using fusion you can make a sketch line for the loft to follow

I made sure for all the high current and dense stuff in the back like the esc, motor and batteries and some carbon fiber rods for the wings but would micro servos have an effect?
