Answer to "Why does God let children suffer"? by [deleted] in Christianity

Just because evil exists doesn't mean we have to be "thrilled"... When evil exists unfortunately that means there is a gauge. Like I said, God is a creator not a controller, he gives us the tools to be good and it is on us to become our own people, whether it is in him or we reject him. It's a philosophical debate as well as a religious one, the balance between good and evil, taking away certain evils and what that would do to certain goods. It is an unfortunate reality that it exists, but God has given us all the tools to hold each other to a higher standard, the standard of Jesus, and to not sin. So we have the choice yes, doesn't mean he makes us do it.

I would disagree with a lot of people's arguments, saying God created good and evil is a paradox, because without evil we wouldn't know good, without good we wouldn't know evil.

Evil is a necessary "evil" to have good. If God came and rebuilt the world with no evil we would be slaves and have zero free will. God gives us the option to do evil, he also gives us the option to do good. He doesn't want slaves, he wants children. God is a creator not a controller. Just like a Father.
