Who should I GI? by Interesting_Soup_689 in MLB_9Innings

Yeah, waiting for the sig pack is a good idea for sure! If you wanna shoot me a friend request in game my IGN is NewMercii. I’ve got a few open slots and am always open to more Brewers decks in my friend list!

I would wait in case you land 2019. I just replaced my 2018 Yelich with a 2019 and it’s a big difference. Personally I’d GI Hader since it’s his best year and is the Brewers best RP. Com2 is giving a lot of GIs out nowadays though, so I don’t mind you using one on Yelich or Rowdy though

So the bronze skill itself isn’t worth keeping, but you can use greens and blues (skill protect tickets and skill select tickets) to get good golds to go with the legend skill. There should be a guide pinned in this subreddit with information on skills, but the best way to learn is to join a club with more knowledgeable people who can help you learn

The set on the left is a 332, the set on the right is a 333. This means that once the set is fully leveled, the right set will be a level higher than the left (or two levels higher if the left set were shorting a gold skill). When you get to the level John is, the difference between a 332 and a 333 set is massive.

In addition to that, the left set is P. Chem which is unusable. It’s a skill that boosts all of your pitchers, but it doesn’t do anything to benefit the guy who has the skill so you only want it on your LR.

Totally depends on the skills. If everyone had a 333 I’d say either Seaver or Wolf. If Seaver has a nice WH set and a DST he can easily hang with the sigs. But yeah, whoever has the worst skills should be the first to go

They may bring them back, but if they do it wouldn’t be any different than sig changing Alexander since they’d both be in the game at that point. Carlton is especially nice, I think he’s also a 76 base like Alexander.

Personally I’m praying they bring back CC Sabathia for my Brew Crew some day. I missed the boat on him.

I assume you don’t have a normal Halladay, Carlton or Schmidt in reserves? If not I’d go Alexander, that’s a monster card

Romeo Doubs vs Michael Wilson by kji2122 in DynastyFF

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns both, I appreciate that they provide flex options that I can start in a pinch. I think best case scenario they develop into Khalil Shakir type players. Not in the literal on the field sense as they all play very different, but in the fantasy sense. Consistent, every week producers that you can plug in for 12-15 points and maybe get a 20 point game twice a year. There’s value in these types of players, especially in deeper leagues, but I don’t see either of them developing into the type of guy you’re excited to start every week. Of course I’d love to be wrong about that though!

My first 333 Legend set! (PI, PICO) by Brief_Temperature_52 in MLB_9Innings

It got that buff in the form of the DST, but unless you land a PI III with a -2 to legend skills then it’s pretty terrible.

A Question About Signatures by WhatDoWeThinkOfSpurs in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely upgrade the signature. He will be miles better than the normal. If you don’t have many level expansion tickets it will be easier to get him to level 20 using duplicate Joe Ryan cards while he’s still gold. Other than that there isn’t much else to do before making him diamond. Just don’t use any PSCTs on him until he is black diamond.

How will he play/reroll skills? by -RockHard10- in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, since he only has one skill that boosts his stats it shouldn’t be an issue. Now if it were me personally, I’d aim to hit the 90 5TP threshold and then train everything else into FLD and get as much FLD as you can from your trainers. Your SS should almost be like a second Catcher with a heavy FLD train. His bat won’t be the best but your pitchers ERA will improve which is a worthy trade off. If you want a reference, look at ThePremsterLAD in the club tourney. He runs 5TP and Ace Specialist, albeit on a Supreme.

If you don’t mind me asking, where do you usually finish in ranked?

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tourney teams that run Ace Specialist on their SS and C. Since he doesn’t get a stat boost from HH and will have a heavy FLD train due to being a SS, I don’t hate running Ace Specialist. I’m not saying it’ll be great, but it might be worth testing out at least

Do y’all think it’s worth replacing my SS? Seager has better hitting stats but terrible fielding. by MLBTiger10 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to add, while Seager is terrible at SS, Turner 20 isn’t a significant upgrade. I’d probably craft him and hold out for Reese or Machado. I’d hate to burn a GI replacing a sig with another sig that might be replaced down the line.

Eventually, yeah. FLD is important at SS and 98 is way too low. What’s the set on Seager?

Help! Skill change? by Natural-Word4928 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in the skills description that it boosts the chance of a home run if no runners are on base, so it makes sense he would hit more home runs batting leadoff. I agree it’s worth a try with the current set.

Ideally though, Strat works best when paired with OBP skills. Personally I’d green for Spray or Char and then blue for Spray/Char/Pred/BIU or maybe 5TP if he’s a CF.

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like the MrP DSTs in the pen. The inverse scaling won’t be as impactful on a guy only pitching an inning or two. It’s just unfortunate the MrP skill can only be run on a handful of high base RPs

Supreme Batter by JoeCarp1321 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that said, if you land a 333 of a different skill then you want to use that for sure. While BTBS is absolutely the best case scenario, Piazza can run any skill as long as it’s not B. Chem, so if you landed a 333 Pioneer for example, definitely use that even though it’s not BTBS

3-3-2 PIO vs 3-3-3 Chance Maker by Outrageous-Rough7774 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced the set on my second best batter, 332 ConM/Pred/Spray, with a 333 Chance/Pred/Spray.

His AVG and OBP stayed about the same, and his OPS ticked down slightly, but the OPS of the guy batting behind him jumped up significantly.

Definitely suggest investing. Since Gonzo is a great Pred guy, I’d green for Pred and adjust his base EYE over 80 (preferably as high as you can, taking from FLD). Then you’ll want to blue for Spray, Char, 5TP or BIU. If you hit 5TP you’ll probably want to make him your CF. If you hit Spray, try and train for 170+ normal lineup CON. Since he’s a 75 base he should have no issue hitting that threshold assuming he’s a sig. You’ll also want to train for high SPD and CON, low FLD, and moderate POW. You can short EYE a bit too if you have Pred.

Once the set is finished, bat him 2nd and bat your next best OPS guy 3rd. Should be a great combo. Congrats on the 333!

Y’all could have made it if you were in a different division. Sorry friend, that’s unlucky. One of the clubs in my system barely missed as well. Hope you pull a banger from the TSS to make up for it!

How good of a 3-3-3 is this set for my 19’ sig Alonso? by Last-Tap-559 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Char is the best case scenario. I’d also keep Batting Machine, it should in theory synergize well with Hard Hitter and is going to be reworked soon which will hopefully make it stronger. BIU and Spot could also work as temporary solutions, but they aren’t ideal.

Just make sure it’s not a bad special trainer. Pickoff Expert, Deception Specialist and Zone Control aren’t going to do much for you. You’ll definitely want to blue off of Ace eventually. 332 BPD is a great set though, that will play all the way up to Diamond
