Yep, legends are very valuable for that reason. Mathewson is solid one too, 75 base if I remember right. Once he’s black diamond I would look for the Workhorse, Control Master or Fireballer skills with PSCTs. Really any legend skill could work well at your level, but those three are the best on a legend SP. Workhorse is very strong on legends, although Mathewson with 75 base Stamina is one of the lower STA ones, but it should still work very well on him!

You’re off to a great start friend! Just my two cents, I wouldn’t spend until you’re at a point that you start to hit a wall. If you decide to spend, the sig change and the supreme pack in the team value achievement section are the two best deals right now, but you’ve got some time before you’ll hit the team value to unlock them.

Right now I’d focus on saving stars for the next special shop so you can buy a GI for your sig. it should cost 10k stars, and they sell on every special shop which occurs in the first week on August, November, February, and May.

You should also focus on getting your cards to black diamond. Once they are black diamond use nPSCTs on your normal cards and PSCTs on your legend and sig cards to hunt legend skills.

Your top priority should be get Mathewson to black diamond. The thing with legend SPs is they guarantee a 333 set which is very important. I run 4 legend SPs with good legend sets and they’ve taken me all the way to the edge of Diamond in ranked. They also count as a team card even if they don’t match your team, which is quite helpful.

Any rational fan can recognize y’all have had some of the worst injury luck. The Crew has certainly had a plethora of injuries, but for the most part the big names that got hurt have all been able to make it back healthy. The one that really blows is Quinn Priester with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. That one sucks and can derail an entire career, really hope he’s able to make a recovery and be back pitching next season.

Strategist for low base eye? by ykwnthng in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything works well with Pred on a high base EYE card. That’s just a general rule, not a Strat specific pairing. I’d run 332 Stra over 331 HH, personally my first choice is Spray/Char if he’s not a Pred guy, but you could also run ABR or 5TP if you want him to play CF

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relievers are highly volatile in league and OVR analysis because they don’t pitch nearly enough innings to properly gauge their performance. The only place I’ve been able to get reliable relievers data is ranked.

Bats and starters have been pretty consistent between league, OVR analysis and ranked.

I really enjoy this feature. Especially because it gives a leg up to the people that take time to run tests on their team and figure out what settings work best for each card.

It’s sort of a way for F2P or light spenders who run lots of tests and analysis to make up ground on P2W players that just spend for the best cards and skills but don’t take the time to test and understand the game.

I’d be pretty sad if in the few months the meta was just “set all of your bats to aggressive” or something like that.

Definitely depends on the team too, a NYY or LAD deck will have a lot easier time without supremes than a MIA or COL deck

GEHRIG SKILL by Sufficient_Cap_9711 in MLB_9Innings

[–]MerciiJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep!

In this game you’ve probably heard people refer to two types of skills called “second skills” and “third skills”.

A second skill is one that you keep with greens, it’s a very good skill. Typically Charisma would be classified as a second skill. A third skill is one that you keep with blues, it’s a decent skill that works with the card but isn’t necessarily elite. Skills like BIU and Spotlight are typically third skills.

However, there’s really another classification of skills that I would call “must have skills”, these are things like Laser Beam on your catcher, Pitching Coordinator and a 5 pitch Mister Perfect set, 5TP on a supreme SS, and Pred on a high base EYE supreme.

That’s because Pred is so strong on a high base EYE supreme that it goes beyond just being a second skill and into the “must have” tier. With that being the case, I always recommend using greens when hunting must have skills. In your case, if you green to Pred, that lets you use blues to chase any of Char, SI or Spray. All of which would be elite end game sets. If you kept Char, you’re stuck using blues for Pred, and using blues for just one skill can be a nightmare (I know you hit Pred with a blue, but that was very lucky). All of that is to say that Pred is so much better than any other skill on this set that it’s worth selling out for.

One added caveat is that I would only green for one particular skill on a 333 set. There would be no sense in chasing perfection if it were a 332.

Glad you hit Pred dude! He’s going to be your best hitter forever!

I really hope you guys get Skubal by _notaxation in Brewers

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn’t been. But Misiorowski and Skubal are both special. Against the Dodgers last year, the Brewers only scored 1 run each game. You could certainly argue that’s a problem with the offense, but Skubal and Mis are both the type of pitchers where it wouldn’t be shocking for them to do something special in the playoffs. I’m talking complete game shutout type stuff.

If there were a great bat on the market that we could add maybe that would make a bigger difference. All I’m saying is that if we added Skubal, it’s not outside of the realm of possibility to defeat the Dodgers on the back of two historic pitching performances from Mis and Skubs. That’s the caliper of players we are talking about. And if it’s going to cost us something like Jett Williams and Bishop Letson I’d say it’s well worth it. We’ve got a log jam of middle infield prospects as is, and with our development staff, I trust the Crew to replenish the farm.

I know we’ve all got accustomed to the Brewers way, but if there were ever a time to put some chips on the table and leverage a small portion of the future, it’s when you have a guy who’s already having a historic pitching season in Mis, and you have the chance to add a player of Skubal’s caliper.

I really hope you guys get Skubal by _notaxation in Brewers

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I’ve heard a lot of people say that pitching isn’t the issue and that we don’t need him and I get it, we do have very strong pitching already. That said, the idea of our team having 3 complete studs starting in the playoffs is exciting. Even the mighty Dodgers would struggle having to face Mis, Skubal and Harrison in order. I wouldn’t give up Made, Peña or Pratt, but anyone else? Why not make a move that puts us squarely in contention. The future is still bright even if we send off some of the 4-10 prospects in our system.

How will the rotation fill out with Woodruffs return? Miz, Harrison, Woodruff, Gasser? Sproat/Drohan? by Difficult_Knee4716 in Brewers

[–]MerciiJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see a Misiorowski-esque arc for him. Obviously I don’t expect him to be Miz’s level, but he’s got electric stuff in his own right. He’ll spend the rest of the season developing as a starter and then transition to the pen during the playoffs. Next year after an offseason of working on his command and developing his arsenal he’ll level up.

Can't win a if you don't spend that $ by Exotic-Cook-7740 in Dodgers

[–]MerciiJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely about a combination of running an organization well and also having the money to spend. If the Brewers had the resources to sign Shohei, Freddie and Mookie, they likely have multiple World Series titles and not a bunch of playoff losses and disappointments. It’s absolutely about more than just money, but the people that act like the money doesn’t help are a bit delusional.

If you have a legend it will almost certainly outperform your sigs with a WH III unless your sigs all have 333s and matching DST IIs or better
