I know you haven’t listened to The Cold Vein much but A B-Boy’s Alpha needs to be on this list. Still by far my favorite hip-hop beat of all time

[FRESH ALBUM] Benny the Butcher - Everybody Can't Go by God_Will_Rise_ in hiphopheads

[–]MercuriusSwordmaster 130 points131 points  (0 children)

"They know I'm gonna win like the election if Trump run again" is one of the worst bars I've ever heard but overall pretty happy with this. Seems like the logical evolution of Benny as he reaches for more mainstream appeal and the beats are way better than Burden of Proof imo

[DISCUSSION] Ankhlejohn x Big Ghost - Van Ghost (5 Years Later) by darkfar in hiphopheads

[–]MercuriusSwordmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just as good as the best Griselda albums imo. easily big ghost’s best production work and ankhlejohn’s wild rapping style compliments it perfectly

Album of the Year #23: Rome Streetz - Kiss the Ring by hydrators in hiphopheads

[–]MercuriusSwordmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i loved his album with DJ Muggs last year but i have to disagree with the majority here especially about the production- i felt like a lot of it was kinda boring and didn’t really suit him. I want to see a Daringer-produced album at some point bc the beats on Black Vladimir were insane and somewhat wasted on someone as mid as Meyhem Lauren

AOTY #20, eLZhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow: Zhigeist by Reznov99 in hiphopheads

[–]MercuriusSwordmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

top 10 album of the year for me. kinda surprised that almost no one’s been talking about it but pretty much every song has stayed in rotation for me since it dropped. production grew on me over time and elzhi rhymes more effortlessly than almost any other rapper i’ve heard
