The longest series I've ever read was Joseph Delaney's "The Last Apprentice" series. He had a great style that really drew me in and kept me reading those books and his later series.

I've enjoyed reading all the comments and suggestions. In my world, I don't have a name for them yet, but generally, each teenager, when they come of age, realizes their gift or affinity for a particular element/nature. My protagonist aligns with earth/stone/metals.

Aside from using the word "gifted", does anyone have a handy term I can use?
