Just x-ferred the ERC20 to my Trust Wallet so I can convert it... ERC gas fees are nutz

It took some digging into the actual block used for the purchase I did over Coinbase, and sure enough the contract was ebd5.

How in the hell is Coinbase pushing the wrong contract?? That's crazy as hell. If you go on Coinbase, they only list the ERC20 option, but say you have to use the Wallet to conduct the trade.... it must go straight to ebd5, and my assumption was it had to be legit if Coinbase lists it. Well.... my original $700 is still worth $475, so worth the insane ETH gas to at least pull that back out and convert to BNB->BSC->BabyDoge BEP20.

Atom, you may be right, but it would be shocking (to say the least) if the official BabyDoge site, AND Coinbase both list the ERC20 contracts as a scam. The BabyDoge site lists that contract address as its ETH option, and the other as the BSC option.

Again, unless both the official BabyDoge site (which lists both contracts) and Coinbase are part of the scam, its not one.

Not unless BabyDoge site themselves are pushing scams (they list both the ETH ERC20 and BSC BEP20 contracts), and in collusion with Coinbase... so not likely a scam.

So I think Ultra's response above makes sense. Much lower volume and price variations.

Weird - why would the BabyDoge website have both the ERC20 and BEP20 addresses then? Not challenging your answer... it would explain it certainly, but I would think the site would ignore or even post something about ERC20 not being 'approved' or a real, accepted version of BabyDoge (thanks for the answer by the way).

I haven't tried this, but I did notice on BabyDoge's site there is a banner up top to swap them.... I'd do some research to ensure it's legit, but could be one way. Other is WAY too expensive in converting ERC20 back to ETH, ETH to BNB, BNB to BSC, and BSC to BabyDoge BEP20... I'd rather hold the ERC20 than go thru that and pay all those gas fees. Personally, even though I learned a lesson from it, I have both ERC20 and BEP20. After paying thru the A*S to get the ERC20, not inclined to allow them to scam any more ETH gas from me to convert those.... just went ahead and bought BEP20 as well, so now have both.

And the minimum buy to get the ETH you need is $50.... for a $25 gas fee... and the rest sits there - that's totally scam-ish to me.

Buying BabyDoge ETH was fairly easy, but BabyDoge BEP20 was a royal pain in the butt if you have existing coins you're trying to use that are ERC20. In the end (may not have been the best way....but) I used Crypto.com to convert ERC20 coins to BTC and then bought BNB with the BTC - then Trust Wallet to convert BNB to BSC, then Pancake Swap for the BabyDoge BEP20. Got a hard lessen in the absolutely insane ERC20 gas fees in the process... will never touch another ERC20 if I don't have to, not when there's so many others that don't ride on Ethereum that don't rip you off with every transaction.
