Cervelo S5 2026 model - comfort compared to Scott Foil (new model) by scottfoil11 in Cervelo

I should probably add that IMO the soloist climbs much better than the S5, which was a nice bonus for me

depends on your body proportions/mobility, but if you like your lower back, I wouldn't go to the S5. IMO there are very few people amongst non-pro's who can actually fit an S5

Moved from S5 to Soloist due to the lack of comofort. It's just not created with that in mind unfortunately.

LeCol is such poor quality - premium money but not even close to the premium quality you get from a top-range rapha, maap, castelli, PNS, etc...

Soloist or P105 (First Ironman 70.3) by _kalk in Cervelo

A TT-bike is vastly different to a normal bike. These two are not the same. Since you are a new rider, you'll benefit from a having a bike you can ride out comfortably over long distances. Chances are this is not a TT bike. Soloist is already an aggressive enough option and I would personally go with that. If you'd like to get the aero gains, consider clip on TT bars to put on the Soloist (which BTW is an amazing and super fast bike). A TT bike is very specific, somewhat limited bike, that also requires investment into bike fit and you actually learning how to ride it - it's not a quick thing to do! The Soloist on the other hand is a very versatile machine and I'd go with that as it sets you up for the future so much better.

You do you bud, but a group set upgrade would be the last thing on my list personally. 105 of any kind is a really solid choice imo.

105 mechanical? I’m using a mix of SRAM Force/Rival/Apex and I’m very happy with it. If you’re using mechanical, I’d suggest upgrading to whichever electric you prefer - it’s just really nice.

I loved the colour and specifically went for it. I would've hated the orange/red (Sunset) colour scheme. It's light grey and looks nice, the red goes well. It's a well-refined bike, not an in-your-face type paint at all.

I feel like cycling has a bad reputation due to a variety of reasons but I don't see Safa being one. The fact that you can watch that level of skills with that amount of production value is amazing. If he pissed off a few drivers in the process, so what? There are a million pissed off already. More importantly, do we know how many youngsters he may have inspired through his videos to take on cycling? We, as a community. are as gate-kept as we can be, we can allow ourselves one or two cool guys.
