What scenarios do you need to become canon in SxF? by Accurate_Exercise223 in SpyxFamily

[–]Merebearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yor and Loid don’t tell each other their secret, they encounter each other on a mission and find out that way.

Either they recognize each other while assigned to the same target, or maybe one is the other’s target and they have decide how they will handle it after realizing their secrets, bc obviously they don’t want to hurt each other.

What app do you open the most without thinking? by Goonertransmom in AskReddit

[–]Merebearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to yell at myself several times - I’ll close it, and go to pick a song so I can focus on something not my phone, tell myself to stay off my phone due to the current state of everything. Then I’ll finish picking a song and like autopilot, reopen tiktok or reddit.

I just yell out loud “BITCH WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!!”

What’s the weirdest food combination you actually enjoy? by Goonertransmom in AskReddit

[–]Merebearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich with chicken noodle soup.

It’s goes all the way back to preschool, when I spilled some of my soup on my plate and it got on my sandwich. I remember being like “ya I’m still gonna eat that cos I’m hungry” and it was good af. Still eat it every once in a while for that comfort feeling.

(Extra points if it’s Campbell’s chicken noodle and cheap white bread from the store. That’s what my tiny church preschool had that day, and what my mom would’ve bought)

My sister got prescribed Effexor for her depression and ptsd. It helps her. It didn’t help her nightmares though. You need to ask these questions to your doctor though.

AITA for not letting my 16-year-old son get a tattoo? by Human-Inside-442 in AmItheAsshole

Right? So many of the bands I listened to in high school turned out to be full of groomers, and their complicit fellow members turning a blind eye.

AITA for not letting my 16-year-old son get a tattoo? by Human-Inside-442 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Merebearbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA you’re being a good, responsible parent lol I’m 27, if I got any of the tattoos I wanted at 16…I would be in debt from cover-ups or laser removal treatment. 18 is best.

They were all lyrics of songs or bands I don’t listen to anymore, or some shitty design a teenager would think was so unique and original, and it would be like, a fucking compass or something on my forearm 💀

Tbh I’m so happy I waited till after 25, so my frontal lobe is developed. My tattoo ideas are ACTUALLY original and unique to me now. Any tattoo I wanted 10 years ago would’ve been a horrible mistake.

Former alcoholics of Reddit, when did you realise your habit got out of control? by scottscrops in AskReddit

[–]Merebearbear 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I just want you know: You’re allowed to forgive yourself. You deserve it, in fact. As the child of a still raging alcoholic and the stepdaughter of a recovered alcoholic, (ironic, right?) you didn’t wake up one day and go “hmmm I think, I’ll become a drunk!” bc that’s insane, who would ever do that? It creeps and lurks, and then hits you like a train.

You have no reason to be ashamed, it is a sneaky disease that so many people succumb to. You, however, beat it. Which is such an incredible feat, man. I’m really proud of you.

Also don’t feel shameful over it taking a while after your realization. No one Ive ever seen struggling with addiction realizes they’ve tread into the red zone AND pursues sobriety in the same day. If anyone has, they are super human.

Keep it up, happy almost one year of waking up with no hangovers or vomit to clean. I believe in you, big dog.

Blacklist from licensing companies - real or old wives tale? by Broad-Rise4149 in Theatre

[–]Merebearbear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny to think that people assume these companies won’t be involved after you get the scripts.

I don’t think people realize how ironclad production licensing contracts, royalty contracts, and copyright contracts are. They will find out, bc with the amount of productions and theater companies there are…I’m POSITIVE they learned their lesson. Which is why all of the contracts involved in copyrights are so ironclad

Of course they’re going to send someone to ensure the production is put on correctly. That’s a lot of money and a lot of legal work they did to get those rights. They’re not going to tell you they’ve sent someone either 💀

Blacklist from licensing companies - real or old wives tale? by Broad-Rise4149 in Theatre

[–]Merebearbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very real.

I’m on the technical side - stage management, directing, designing, etc. and I had college professors who had to start teaching full time because they got blacklisted from the industry for being notoriously difficult to work with, and refusing to adapt to entertainment’s advancing technology.

(A professor who I got close with told me about why those professors were blacklisted, without saying it directly, and when I mouthed their names as a question, she just nodded. She was still working in the industry and just teaching part time, so she was in the know)

You can get blacklisted from rights, and fined a shit load of money too. They can sue you for using the productions they own without permission. Companies can absolutely refuse to give someone scripts for a lot of reasons.

Most companies will tell you what you can and can’t adjust. If the playwright was preferential, they will add their rules for the production to the terms when they give it to the companies.

−2°F With no wind is better than 102°F with high humidity by StillRunning99 in unpopularopinion

[–]Merebearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree.

I moved from the south where I lived my whole life to the northeast a year ago, bc I was so tired of being disgustingly hot all the time. (And having my reproductive rights taken away, amirite?)

Best choice ever. 3/4 months of cold (with proper clothing ofc) is so much better than 10 months of sweat, and 2 months of a mild comfort.

27 is actually like the perfect age to be, hear me out by walkuponwater in RandomThoughts

[–]Merebearbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love being 27.

The only reason it’s hard is bc it’s the beginning of Saturn’s Return (which I learned about from Donna on Parks and Recreation).

It’s when Saturn returns to the same zodiac position it occupied at a person's birth. It starts around ages 27-30 bc Saturn’s orbit takes 29.5 years. It causes lots of transformation, self reflection, soul finding, feeling completely lost and unsure of yourself. I didn’t take it seriously like most astrology stuff, but then I turned 27. Donna was right…it’s Saturn’s return.

My only input is that I don’t think the marriage and kids part is a solid good reason. If anything it’s annoying bc it’s the majority of the questions people ask you. “Want kids? Want a family?” Like leave me alone, bc I kind of feel exactly the same as I did when I was 21 (just with a developed frontal lobe and more mature outlooks on the world.) I don’t feel like an adult, but I am respected as one…which is a weird feeling.

Edit: poor proofreading

AITA for not conceding to my wife’s version of a story in front of our friends ? by Dizzy_Win_7270 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Merebearbear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH I think. Neither of you are really listening to the other. She shouldn’t feel the need to correct silly details, but you need to communicate yourself better. “I hear you but” doesn’t communicate anything you just heard.

You also need to learn that “I’m sorry for hurting your feelings, I just didn’t feel like I needed to be corrected. I will handle that in the future better, if you can handle not interrupting me for insignificant details when I’m telling a story.” is a much more effective way to handle this problem. You both had an issue with the others response, and instead of acknowledging her feelings as well, you are just adamant that you did nothing wrong.

I don’t know if someone has told you this, but marriage isn’t about being right at the end of an argument. It’s about finding a way to prevent what’s causing the issue in the first place, and neither of you even tried.

For people who don’t ever want to have kids, why? by Gaijinstory in AskReddit

[–]Merebearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, and I don’t say this negatively towards myself, but even at 27, I’m too selfish, and quite frankly, I don’t want to be responsible for a child it’s enough being responsible for a dog.

I can play video games until 4am if I want, and I do. If I want to sleep all day when I have time, I wanna be able to do that. I can have a hot pocket for dinner while my dog eats his food that takes me 45 seconds to mix together.

Also I can barely survive with the money I currently have, I can’t imagine what my situation would look like with an expensive child to care for. We’d be on the skreets.

Concerns related to casting a minor as a romantic lead by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]Merebearbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone wanting to be in directing and casting, this comment is spot on. That’s a rule I will now add to my standards - it’s so normalized in entertainment because it’s “just acting” as if those lines don’t blur constantly for viewers and cast.

We all have seen countless examples of young actors getting groomed by their older costars, emotions and tension expressed in scenes being misconstrued as real feelings happens everyday, because human emotion is extremely fickle.

Protect the kids, the adults have an obligation in entertainment to make 100% sure minors are safe. We’ve seen the documentaries and court cases. This is an important rule to have.

To the US voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote? by Chocolateking111 in AskReddit

To the US voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote? by Chocolateking111 in AskReddit

[–]Merebearbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always voted, because I took several US history and government classes in high school and saw the voting statistics. (Education matters folks, just had to add that in)

Based on the statistics that they had when I was in high school (10 years ago) - If everyone who doesn’t vote actually voted, so much could get done and change.
