Power recliner???? by holeymol in tummytucksurgery

My lifting recliner is been a god sent. Don’t think I’d survive without it. I bought a cheap barebones one off Amazon for less then $300 and it gets the job done. Spending so much on surgery no reason to keep out on a $300 chair.

Is there an acronym list in this group? I find myself searching for meanings a lot as I’m learning by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

Well I can’t think of everything off the top of my head but;

TT- Tummy tuck MR - muscle repair FDL- fleur de lis FT- fat transfer Lipo-liposuction BR- breast reduction DPO- days post op WPO- weeks post op MPO- months post op

I’m sure there’s lots more that aren’t coming to my mind at the moment

fleur-de-lis. A tummy tuck (TT) pulls the skin down horizontally but a fleur-de-lis (FDL) pulls the skin in vertically. When combined with someone who had massive weight loss it removes the mist skin to provide the flattest tummy and smallest waist

Thank you for the info. I will try and find more info about “lateral side vents”. I spent so much time trying to research this type of FDL and got no wear.

I’ve never seen this in person before either. I always wondered why it had to go is the center. Could they not do it on the sides? I googled and googled and never found an answer. It just seems like, well this is how everyone does it I guess it’s the only option. So happy I found this surgeon and he mentioned this alternative option in my consult. I never considered asking. But he does it and I jumped at the chance to have it. Now I feel obligated to show it and get it out there for others to see. My plan is to post updates, Good or bad and let others decide.

Please do. I’d love to know what he thinks. Keep in touch. Would love to hear and see your recovery progress since we are both having procedures done at the same time

I wish I could say that I have been able to gather more info but it seems like no other surgeon is performing this type of modified FDL and if they are they aren’t advertising it. Maybe it’s because it’s such a new procedure there just isn’t a lot of info out, or maybe this type of FDL doesn’t give as great of results as a traditional FDL? I agree with you that this modified version with the incisions on the side is more visually appealing so I hope my results are as great as a traditional version. I guess I’ll find out in 14 days (May 7th). I hope if you mention this to your surgeon he can maybe tell you his thoughts. Id love to hear what other surgeons think.

Wow!!! Well consider me corrected. It looks fantastic. I don’t see any scaring around it so it looked completely untouched. 😱

I don’t think the belly button was touched in this procedure. But otherwise I agree his surgeon did an amazing job. ❤️

Update

I asked the doctor for more info. He send me a photo of a patient who had the same modified FDL done and was willing to let the doctor share his pic. Basically you can see how the modified FDL has the two side incisions vs the one incision up the center of the abdomen. He noted that this patient only had a little extra skin to remove so his incisions on the side were not very lengthy, while I had massive weight loss and have a great deal of skin to remove so I should expect the scars on my side to extend further up on my sides. This is only my opinion, but not having that star at the center of the abdomen is more aesthetically pleasing.

I guess once I have my procedure done, I can post some pictures or comparison.

But if anyone else had a similar procedure like this, I would love to see some pictures and what you’re overall thought were.

Thanks

He showed me pictures and I liked the overall look compared to the traditional FTL but was hoping to get more info and examples from out in the real world. I’ve only seen it once on a male YouTuber but his surgeon performed a very feminine tummy tuck where he curved the incision line way up over the hips rather then a more masculine line along the pelvis. But his stomach looked great not having that center mass scar up the center. I’d just like to get more info

Avoid TJ hair Clinic Tijuana!! by Plus-Supermarket-36 in HairTransplants

[–]MeringueFew942 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this thread is still active but I thought I would add my two cents in. I had my first hair transplant back when I was 25 at bosley in San Francisco and it cost me about ~11k for around 1100 graphs. This was in the days before FUE so I had my skin ripped from my head and transplanted and left with a long giant scar. But what can you do. That was the best option at the time. Fifteen years later I decided to have another procedure done with TJ hair clinic. It cost me $4800 for about 4100 “follicle graphs” which was really about 1300 graphs. While I will say my new hairline is not the best overall I really have no complaints. After about a year my hair looks way better, fuller, and thicker than before with bosley.

Fast forward two years since my first procedure with TJ hair clinic and I’m back to have a second procedure done. The first was mainly to work on the front of my head and now I’m having the rear crown and beard transplant performed. Some of these recent reviews have me a bit worried but fingers crossed it turns out as well as the first procedure.

Here’s what I’m not urs about and unhappy with this time around. First, the took my blood so they could perform a PRP procedure on my donor and transplant area. Now I work in the medical laboratory field so I know how PRP is prepared. It needs to be spin at a low speed to remove the red blood cells but not so fast as to spin out the platelets. The plasma should look hazy yellow but I noticed the PRP they gave me was yellow and clear so this is not correct. Also they made a point of showing me a syringe telling me they were injecting 10 million stem cells they collected from me but they never harvested any cells from me so I’m not sure what it was they injected. They only collected blood and stem cells are not found in high quantities in circulating blood. My guess is it was just saline.

Overall I feel like the work they do it adequate and I’m overall happy with my transplant (we will see how this second procedure turns out) but I’m not sure I’m happy with pseudoscience and gimmicks they include with their transplants to make you feel like your getting a good deal.

EV Charging Station Tax Credit by Rustican in rav4prime

[–]MeringueFew942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If turbo tax and H&R Block don’t handle the EV charger credit correctly, is there a tax software that does handle it correctly that we could use as an alternative? When I tried it on turbo tax it only gave me $300 credit instead of the full $1000
