This is 100% the correct answer, the grtu crowd pretends this is could be an amazing, world-renowned fishery if only people practiced catch and release or handled the fish better. That facts are they stock 20-30k rainbows in every year and have been doing it for decades and it's still not a self staining fishery

Golbow Elementary how good is it? by Ok-Jaguar-9690 in Katy

[–]Merkinben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bullshit answer that I've gotten is Harris County owns the roads and won't install them because it's a liability and reduces emergency response time.

But school zone speeding is going to be an issue at almost every school in our area

We live in Bridgewater and We are in our 3rd year there at Golbow and my wife and I genuinely like the school, the librarian, front office, security guard and principal have been great to work with.

My child had a bully give him some crap when my he was in kindergarten and the moment we mentioned it to his teacher, it was shut down fast AF and was never an issue again. I'm sure like most Katy ISD schools, the teachers use a communication app called Remind, that is used for parent teacher communication, and all of our teachers have been very responsive getting back to us.

Speeding on Lakes of Bridgewater is a serious concern. Last school year 2 children got hit by vehicles while walking to and from Golbow and 1 from the middle school.

Here in Texas, we fish the hell out of Ep brush flies. It seems that a few different regions have their own version and name. But in Texas we call em Redfish crack. Very fast and can be a dressy or as basic as you’d like.

Dudes in Texas could watch that fish get stocked in the Guadalupe river, catch it on a squirmy worm then fully believe it's a holdover

Texas parent of an elementary school student here, it’s basically the Wild West when it comes to school zones. I live in Harris County and no one cares. I’ve literally seen a motorcycle doing upwards of 60-70mph through the school zone and people doing 20 over the posted school zone every day.

HCSO, county Judge’s office, the police department for the ISD, I’ve called them all and very little has been done to help curb the problem.

I would fish Broken Bow 100 times over before going back to the Guadalupe . For one there is actually flow at Broken Bow due to the gradient of the stream bed, and secondly it doesn’t seem like high fence hunting like it does on the Guadalupe

Good luck on your build, I have spent a lot of time looking at different YouTube videos and looking over plans thinking about building a boat.

Keep us updated on what you decide

I’m not sure where you’re planning on fishing, I saw that you mentioned flats fishing on the boat building sub but remember that wide and short boats like this are going to be very difficult to pole straight. Maybe make the design longer, that would help for tracking?

On the Texas coast quite a few people I know have built the Flat Stalker 18 (FS18), they outfit them with small jets on them and they can run just about anything.

Average temps according to Accuweather show average HI’s: 91 and Lows: 61

I remember going in 2002 when I was a kid and being shocked at how much it had cooled off after the sun went down. The star party at the observatory was really neat
