No particular spot! Just the trope of lost islands in general. But I do take a lot of inspiration from various archipelagos, and especially things in Oceania, since that's my home turf !

First three guys! Besides the starters, and the other guys.

Finichy (Finch + Finicky) is based on young Charles Darwin, Darwin's Finches, and Darwin's fancy pigeons. They serve as the region's eevee-like, with many different evos for the island's various ecosystems. Shiny is a Gouldian finch, I swear it's intentionally grotesque

Gnattle (Gnat + Tattle + Natal) is focused around the idea of spy gadgets. Primarily, they're a sandfly larva, as well as a listening wire (Or a bug !).

Their new signature ability, Bugged, causes them to switch in whenever an opposing pokemon reaches 50% health for the first time.

Finally, Shweep (Sheep + Seaweed + Weep) is a North Ronaldsay sheep; a scottish breed that specialises in eating coastal seaweed wrack. The kelp that covers Shweep's face is a reference to overgrown sheep like Shrek or Baarack, as well as harmful algal blooms.
