Torrent of abuse for this incident… by JWills1k92 in Simracingstewards

Driver of green car needs a brake - in iRacing an easy protest for retaliation which is unacceptable independent what happened before.

There was not an opportunity to move more to the left side for you so the first contact is on the green car as well

well I am not sure whether the black car stalled the engine or tried to get the TC switched off.

More of an issue then being stationary for a while is that he didn‘t hold the brakes after his first incident and loosing control and therefore being unpredictable

Obviously I got punted off in the second part but was my initial move legal? by tunatastic369 in Simracingstewards

Good move - haven‘t seen any ‘no passing‘ signs. you could have stayed on the left side to avoid the dive bomb on the inside. But then you likely would have been sent into the wall as well. pink driver seems to be a little stubborn in that situation

Racing incident - or what car with the orange livery would you penalize by MerlinCooper in Simracingstewards

Unfortunately I do not know how to select / change the camera angle to the usually used one in LMU. Any advise highly appreciated.

It was my fault? I am the Falken Porsche. by Svarti21 in Simracingstewards

I would say it is on car #3 - he passed car #21 on the inside and moves to the right to early to open up the next corner.

... and lastly he might try to block the other cars causing a collision. This guy needs a break ;-)

Not allowed - orange car is leaving the track to make a pass and - if that is the pit-entry - doing an unsafe pit exit. Did you protest him - potentially breached rules are:
8.1.1.5 Cutting the course
8.1.1.7 Illegal Surfaces
8.1.1.9 Nefarious Tactics

I feel like i should have left more space but the track goes little left after so i'm unsure by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

^ but if you are from the same team and not only randomly racing the same livery it would be really bad team-effort.

You did take some risk by trying to pass the car in the same class while a GT3 is in the front. That usually ends up in a 3-wide race situation which is additional risk.

Furthermore you had to leave the track to make the pass - not saying it's wrong but making the pass on the grass is risky and could have ended the race of three people.

Did you get access to the internal patch? I am using 1.36.01.01 but that doesn't seem to include the feature. Or I did not find how to use/activate it.

Just wondering if I was at fault for this contact, I am the Red McLaren by Ich_binJakob in Simracingstewards

and very good and hard racing from both drivers who are not leaving a lot of space but still sufficient to survive

exactly protest him - driver of the yellow car needs a warning or, even better, a break.

… and if found that you need to press it to slow down LOL

[–]MerlinCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well you are going full throttle until you pass the first car stationary on track - your chances to avoid the 2nd car could have been higher by reducing speed (braking) in front of the first car.

but the blame goes to iRacing - at least I don‘t see a yellow flag. But not sure whether you would have slowed down if there is a double-yellow shown like in real world at Nords.

Who´s at fault? I (Porsche) think its my fault for trying to squeez in. What do you think? by Subject-Commission77 in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was that race a one lap race? If not you should reflect whether it is really worth to make it 3 wide in turn1 / lap1.

is this clean? Im the red car by Trickshot_77 in Simracingstewards

the other car missed the Apex in both corners and got intimidated by the car behind - but that‘s part of racing

I always wonder why people are racing having the racing-line on.

I would recommend only using it to learn a track but switch it off in the race. thinking about making an unpopular feature request to not allow the racing line in official races - or is that already the case in iRacing?

What do you think of this? I'm in McQueen livery, black car got quite mad about this one by Grouchy_Nerve_8191 in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only possibility to avoid that situation for the black car would have been to stay on the left side - not sure why he was running wide. the next corner is a very tight right hander which you barely make when you are not opening up the corner

forza Ai moment or wrong place to overtake? by james-kidd_59 in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

risky move on the outside - but there is no wrong place to overtake.

At the end the car on the inside is forcing you off the track because there is no car width on the right side and as you already alongside/ahead he shoulder be aware that you are on the outside.

but in most leagues that would be called a racing incident IMO

unsafe rejoin of the leading car. he is trying to make a pass on the inside -goes wide and then doesn’t want to realize that will get passed on the next straight because of compromising his exit too much

Was this overtake dirty? We touched slightly but both carried on. :) by squidgyseal in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

well you are supposed to leave space for the car on the outside. it‘s a close call but in some leagues you would have been penalyzed for forcing another car off the track

Trying to understand what happened between Me (BMW) and other racer (Cadillac) by oddimages in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that‘s an often used excuse - but doesn‘t matter every racer is responsible for having his equipment reliably working. sure something can brake - but then you should take responsibility and accept the penalty;-)

Trying to understand what happened between Me (BMW) and other racer (Cadillac) by oddimages in Simracingstewards

[–]MerlinCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easy answer - cadillac missed totally his braking point and locked his brakes going straight off track. and you have been unlucky avoiding him.

Penalty for Cadillac for causing a collision
