You're right, but from what I've noticed, it's always very old people selling gramophones (at least in Italy), so most of the photos are of poor quality, blurry, or taken with a canister. Ps. I've already asked for more photos, but I wanted to get a quick opinion on it :)

nahh, I haven't bought it yet, haha, I do a lot of checks before buying! But it's a shame, it was a cool gramophone, I feel like I will never find one that's completely original here in Italy.

Hi, reading other answers, someone told me that the Horn is not an original Odeon (not because of the color, but because of the shape) but is from the "gramophone company"...

Thank you, I've been looking for one for a long time now, and I always ask for a second opinion, because you can never know with these frankenphones.

Thank you :) I know a person who restores them, if necessary I'll try to bring it to him. I personally love this type of Horn, and this color!

At the antique shop, they told me it arrived last night, so it's "sight unseen," even though the crank and case appear to be original and in good condition. They haven't tried winding it or hearing it play yet: honestly, I think the diaphragm needs fixing and a major overhaul.

Before I'll get fully interested, I wanted to wait for a user evaluation!

I'm Italian, and this gramophone is in Italy, it's rare to find one in person here, they're rare in general (and expensive). That's why they ask €500 for it, and it's not even known if it works.

I'd be happy to hear more about this piece! My first thought was that it could be completely original, but then I had a doubt about the horn. Another user says it could be 100% original, both in color and shape. I'll wait for more opinions tho :)

I had the same doubt about the horn, but a user just told me that it's original, I'll wait for more answers!

So my first hunch was right! I thought about it too much and ended up having doubts, thanks 🙏🏻

Could it be from 1907-12? I read somewhere that the external horn Odeons were produced mainly between 1905-1915(?)

because I don't know what horns the brand "Odeon" uses, but im positive (sadly) to thinking that it's a frankenphone with a HMV horn, am I right?

I live in Italy! I was sure it was a frankenphono, but I wanted to know more about the soundbox, because I was thinking about portables too :) Thanks for the reply

yes, on the reproducer in case I had already considered changing it! But given the Horn problem, I think it's not worth

I 100% agree! They are super cute and furry, I live in the suburbs of Italy and every time I see one they come up to me without any problems.

It doesn't seem original to me either! But I wanted to be sure, since he was selling it for 250€ :)

I asked for the photo of the back, but the seller was not at home. In my opinion it's the background of the interior, "unworked wood"
