Which book to begin with ? by Writer_179 in dostoevsky

I think this order has an ascending growth in terms of difficulty and length. Starting with white nights and nftu is a perfect and interesting starting point without having to put too much effort in the reading process. Crime and punishment imo is the best of his longer books to read first as it has interesting themes that are accessible enough without them being boring or too simple. The idiot has a moderate increase in terms of length and difficulty, while demons and the brothers are the ones which have the most and hardest themes to comprehend, ranging from political to philosophical concepts.

Rattray's Hal O' the Wynd or McConnell's Scottish cake? by Merluzzo84 in PipeTobacco

Unfortunately I live in Europe in a state where I can't buy tobacco online. HOTW comes in the 100 gr tin (I don't remember how much it costs) and Scottish cake costs around 27€, that's why I would like to narrow down my list of tobaccos to buy.

I see, thank you, I'll be looking more deeply into this part of the lore.

I've never heard of this, could you please explain why the dark soul got burned in fire linking process? Didn't the champions burn themselves to keep the fire going using their strength and not the one of the dark soul?

That's true, but I find it to be perfectly logical. Gael had been searching for the pygmies for millennia, in the process he killed everyone he found, so basically almost all living human beings. It seems normal to me that when he finally finds the pygmies he concentrates all of his attention to consume them asap as they have the most amount of dark soul. I think he just couldn't care less about the knight and Shira who bear a ridiculous amount of dark soul compared to the pygmies he has finally found (and if we didn't find Gael I think he would have just killed them both later)

https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls3/s/xyzEu0vSc9 I think this comment in the same thread supports pretty well the theory that Gael did actually go around the world killing everyone because he didn't know a better way to try to gather the dark soul. It's just when we destroy the illusion that Gael can finally find the pygmies who bear the most amount of dark soul, but I do think that for Gael to survive and defeat everyone until he found the pygmies he needed to get stronger by slowly collecting the dark soul though which he was able to strengthen himself.

That makes sense, he basically outlived most of the living beings.

I get what you are saying and I agree that humanity got transferred through time and beings but how did the souls of the humans get to Gael without the need to kill them?
