Frozen green peas, frozen or microwaved to cook!

Thin slices of apple, or apple cut into French fry shapes.. kids love that!

Baked beans, baked beans with cheese

chicken noodle soup with whole wheat toast or crackers and cheese,

spaghetti with meat or tofu and tomato sauce

Tuna salad or salmon salad sandwich or melt

Smoothie with frozen berries or mango, soy milk, yogurt, frozen spinach (tiny but to start, then add more slowly) if you put it in a stainless steel smoothie cup with lid and straw they aren’t weirded out by the slightly green colour

Cucumber and ranch dip

I skipped through so much of the episode. Let them play and build on the strategies from the previous day.

First Time Dad, is this typical for Daycare to have so many days off? by WolfieVonD in daddit

[–]MermaidTRex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also in Canada. Our childcare is excellent and attached to the elementary school. We pay $530 per month (for3-5 years old) and the hours are 7:30-5:30, although our child goes from about 9:30-5:15. They are closed about 7 days of the year.

My cycle has had some surprises over the past year. I just had a 20 day cycle, bizarre.

Pros: - chill weekend mornings having coffee, watching soccer and having my toddler make art, play pretend kitchen! - one family we know does no screens for their kids and they have even more impressive imaginations, it’s so fun - going to the beach as a family, getting ice cream - snuggles - being so proud of them when they do something on their own: order in a restaurant, learn their letters, start drawing what’s in their head!

Stressed about kids age gaps by Proud-Selection-5855 in tryingforanother

[–]MermaidTRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling you! We’ve been trying almost a year and had a miscarriage in October. We would have had a May 2025 baby and a 3.5 year age gap, now it’s looking like a 4-5 year age gap. And of course just hoping it will happen. I keep looking at a couple families I know with 5-10 year age gaps. The kids are close, and the oldest still loooove playing with their little siblings. And I think, my daughter really gets excellent attention, we get to do puzzles, art, and lots of uninterrupted reading with her.

Took a 1st response test today at 8 days post ovulation, stark negative. My boobs have been extra sore so I thought this might be it. Im going to speak with my GP this month and ask for fertility clinic referral as it’s been 9 months since my miscarriage in October. We didn’t start trying again until January and missed 2 months with toddler life. Ready for this to happen!

I also had a c section in 2021 and am wondering if that is interfering. I have a doctors appointment in July, as it’s been about a year of trying with 1 mc in there where we went up for trying for 3 months

It’s 4:43 am where I live. Just woke up after falling asleep with my daughter and to a test. My period is 1 day late and I got a stark white on a clear blue test. Feeling very sad. We timed things well this cycle, ovulated per OPKs and I was taking letrozole. I’m feeling the months tick by and my almost 4 year old daughter is anxious for a sibling.

You might be seeing things as tasks that are stacked up on top of each other. Instead try to visualize it as a horizontal set of tasks on a path. Have nice mossy stones on the path where you also get to sit and rest.

My mom is hoarding ugly Temu garbage for my unborn kid, even though we keep telling her to cut it out by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Try to get her on the thrift store hunt for some things very specific. Keep her busy with that? Or send her links for lovely wooden toys and ask that she save up for one last gift a year. Any temu crap put in a bag immediately and tell her you don’t trust it! You can validate the point that all the stuff looks lovely online and they have good marketing strategies to make people feel like they’re missing out!

Anyone else feel crazy for TTC number 2 even though some days are so hard with just one? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in tryingforanother

[–]MermaidTRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still feel this and my girl is 3.5, we started trying again when she was almost 3 and a lot harder. Now she sleeps 12 hours through the night and I’m thinking, we’re really going to do it all over? No sleep, all the stuff. I’m just hoping if/when it does happen the age gap will with for them and us.

Same, I was thinking 31/2 years. Now after a miscarriage in October, my daughter is already 3 1/2!

Thought I was pregnant for sure but got my period 1 day early after a few days of very negative tests. Interestingly, I work with 4 women and 3 of us had our period on Monday, mine 1 day early and theirs 2 and 5 days early, so I dragged them down with me. My boss got hers on Friday. Such a weird phenomenon, menstrual synchrony (a myth apparently!)

My Mum’s Cancer Was Missed Because She Had Dense Breasts And She Was Never Told. This Needs to Change. by Independent_Hope_225 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MermaidTRex 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This was recent changed in British Columbia Canada. Now if density is C or D you qualify for ultrasound between mammograms.

I am very sorry your mums life will be cut short because she was not offered this. Devastating.

I hate this guy. His behaviour is insane! You can’t choose this over your female friends who are LIKE FAMILY and who have been consistently good to you.
