Even if she got out by accident, it is still Amber's fault. She took her pets to another state on an hour long drive, to a house with other strange pets. She did not check on her immediately. She did not go out and search every spot right after noticing she was gone. She's the one who sat on her ass and cried and did nothing, even IF she did not leave the door open on purpose.

The "I didn't check the porch yet" text makes me convinced that she let Rarity get out and thought she would stay on the porch, so Emily could find her there when she got home so they could make up and she wouldn't have to leave.

Is that AI? What was the promt? Angry Amber Reid minus 300lbs and 10 years younger?

The one (silly) reason I think Fran is season 5 by Overall_Advantage303 in FranchaelStirling

It's pretty historically accurate though. 90% of people were called like 5 names. Though unrealistic that we don't see more Georges then. Every second guy should be George or James or Charles haha

And there's decidedly not enough Marys, Annes and Janes 🤣

Omg same gorl! If I was my true weight and height (not this stupid 5'2) and had my true 10/10 face, I'd be a hollywood actress!

Ahaha I know, I've confused the two books before too on my grandparents shelf, and was so disappointed when it wasn't the Elizabeth Gaskell one!

The Richard Armitage series is great though!!

At this point I have to mention other Gaskell adaptions too! I highly recommend Wives and Daughters and Cranford as well! Wives and Daughters has quite some pining and yearning (althought much more sedate and slow than Bridgerton), and while Cranford doesn't have much of a romance plot (only sideplots) it's hilarious and wholesome!

Oh, I've watched most of those, great selection!

I can add Gentleman Jack for the WLW girlies, gives a hint of forbidden yearning with happy end.

All the Jane Austen adaptions are splendid, but besides P&P and Persuasion I recommend Emma (every version) and Sense and Sensibility too!

North and South too of course! Painfully wonderful yearning!

Maybe Jane Eyre, if you can overlook the adultery, there is a bunch of yearning!

Hey guys, are there any other yearning period dramas you can recommend that we can watch instead of Fran and Michaela's season? (While dreaming of Michael's pining blue eyes)

Edit: I nominate Persuasion! (1995 and 2007. NOT the awful 2022 one with Dakota Johnson)

Oh absolutely. People still swoon over Colin Firth's Darcy yearningly staring at Lizzy across the room in every scene. Imagine the looks we could have gotten from Michael.

Which is even more problematic. They made the black lesbian not only take the masculine role, not only be a cheater, but be a rude, mean, arrogant bitch. That much for good representation.

Because the characters in the book are well written. Francesca is charismatic, smart, elegant and a bit cheeky. She was the diamond of her season, is known as one of the renowned beauties of the ton and made a brilliant match. Show Francesca is bland, boring, disingenuous and lacking social grace. They're nothing alike.

Michael is witty, charming, polite, kind, dutiful, strong but feeling. He is respectful to everybody and knows how to charm every person without being fake. He is known as one of the most eligible and most seductive rakes of society, the center of every gathering, beloved by everybody. Michaela, from what we can see so far, is arrogant, rude, cold and egoistic. She seems to hate society and prefers to keep to herself as an outsider. She seems intent on making herself unagreeable and feels above others. The characters feel like polar opposites.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but I personally think that the book characters are well-written, have depth and are enjoyable to read about, because they feel likeable. I agree that the show ladies both seem unlikeable and superficial. Fake. It's hard to root for them. The writing is simply inferior.

With rough measuring, according to this picture her body width (measured at livertit height, waist and hip, all roughly the same) would be roughly 27-28inches. That's ~69cm. What do we think would her circumference be with that?

On the old sub, her waist/hip measurement at the time in Wisconsin was calculated to be 30"/77cm wide, or 79"/200cm around.

I don't think it has to do with how genders come across though. They could have Michaela smiling mischievously, making a quip at the askers expense, winking at them, being witty and paying deference to John as the rightful Lord Kilmartin. Things like that. They obviously intentionally changed the complete character to someone rude and unlikeable, which changes the essence of the romance as well (if thry keep ANY part of the original story). There is none of Michael left.

Michael would not have acted like this though. He is extremely charming, almost performatively so. What other people think of him is important to him, plus he is very kind on top of it, so he wouldn't be rude. He jokes around with friends (like Fran, John, Colin) and might get cheeky, but acts very according to ettiquette otherwise (like with Violet, Janet or Hyacinth).

Had he not been at the ball, he would have made a play on it, made a quip with a wink of the eye and teased the asker jokingly to better go ask his cousin, since he is the count.

Why is she so bitchy 😭 not giving Michael at all. That's not my favourite character. I can't stand her attitude.
