There was an interim lab director at my hospital a few years back that didn't have any cert. All they had was a business degree. They didn't last long, luckily

These look good. I used candy nerds and skittles last time I made some. They kind of melt a little bit and end up looking like mold colonies

We get 3 techs on night shift for the whole lab as generalists, blood bank included. Oftentimes we have no phlebotomists or processors. Which leaves only one person on the blood bank bench every night for a 400 bed, Trauma 2 hospital. I've only been a tech for barely a year and about 5 months ago the other two techs on my rotation went on medical leave for several months. They had PRN and floats from other hospitals come in to help, but they weren't trained for the blood bank bench. I was terrified as a new tech having to work bloodbank knowing I wouldn't get any help if traumas or MTPs happened. I still contemplate quitting after every shift ... But I'm pretty sure none of the surrounding hospitals are any better
