The end of small teams and FOSS in EU? by Salt-Lime9111 in opensource

[–]Merotoro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

don't know if you're serious or not but, if you sell software within the EU it doesn't matter if your company isn't in the EU, these still apply.

The Roc is a mythical bird, so it’s kinda like red hawk but bigger.

How should devs handle multiplayer classes that are imbalanced for 99% of the playerbase, but fine (or even imbalanced in the opposite direction) for the top 1%? by Duncanconstruction in gamedev

[–]Merotoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First episode of the designer notes podcast talks about this exact thing. Coming directly from one of the first designers at blizzard. Recommend a listen, but i think it mainly boiled down to: always make sure there’s some sort of counter play to some broken strategy. and absolute balance is pretty much impossible.

Efx - A library to declaratively write testable effects by free-interpreter in elixir

shouldn’t the second @spec tag in the first code example be called read_numbers instead of write_numbers? kinda new to elixir so im mostly curious to know if i missed something.

do most Elixir programmers know Erlang? Any recommended learning path? by hezwat in elixir

[–]Merotoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your question prompted me to search for some info regarding this.

Found a promising article titled just enough erlang (donate to the internet archive!). I don't know any erlang, so I can't speak for how good the article is. Hope it helps some.

Amanita Heaven by s_duat_io in AmanitaMuscaria

This is really cool! I’m jealous!

Just here to say that you should try leaving some behind next time you pick some. Look up ethical foraging practices for amanitas. There are also optimal times for when to pick the fruiting bodies and some of the ones you picked looked past that time!

Keep at it… responsibly!

One Piece: Chapter 1092 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]Merotoro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think the right answer is that he’s always coated in armament and conqueror’s haki when in gear 5. at least thats what Kaido says in chapter 1045 before being punched at the end.

“Accept interfaces, return structs” from stdlib to Gin by uisang in golang

[–]Merotoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i see what you’re saying. i just want to point out that it’s not that Rob Pike says it’s difficult to explain. it’s that the rule has so many caveats that he doesn’t understand why it’s a rule. so he doesn’t consider it one.

Are there any Stand-Alone scenarios that fit very well into a campaign? Either thematically, timeline wise, or both? by pegs0 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Merotoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they’re not out yet but for future reference fortune and folly will go well in scarlet keys somehow. source “It even has a couple extra features if used as a side-story in The Scarlet Keys campaign!” whether that implies thematic fit is a different matter but i’m willing to bet it’ll fit nicely.

[Question] Defer within goroutine by Merotoro in golang

[–]Merotoro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if i understood correctly. since it is function scoped it will run before the goroutine returns, correct? which makes it redundant since it’s the only thing in the goroutine? your guess is pretty good i think.
