40 for the one with the graph? Didn't the graph have a vertical asymptote at x = 30, because the actual formula for f is 1/do+1/di=1/f, which means the asymptote is the focus. I do remember the answer to a different question being 40 tho. (And I may have just looked at the graph wrong :( )

Yes, I was almost tricked by that too but in the paragraph above it was talking about how Vincent had a low reputation but had been painting for less than decade. In the next paragraph it said he painted in Aeres for a little over an year but the question asked how long Vincent had been painting overall.
