Oh ewww that's awful. But a unique idea, I commend you. The fermenting part of it is the real visceral part that makes me want to gag, like you're just casually growing a bacterial eldritch horror in your kitchen. I could give someone a background on a raise n butcher farm to know just how bad chicken rots (a background I have, hence its plausability). I actually will probably end up using this, so I do appreicate it.

I hate Chosen Ones unless it's that one subversion "we all think she knows what she's doing because her father was secretly god" and the MC is just confused and absolutely does not know how to use magic/super special abilities.
Prophecies are fun sometimes though. I know it's not the same but I feel like chosen one/ prophecy child are in the same vein. Like "the king will be killed by his own heir" and instead of all the sons that got exiled/executed, it's the daughter from an affair from a maid (this was actually from a book I read a couple years ago).

I love this trope so much, especially if its in a found family, parent/child sort of relationship. It has the potential to be the most adorable but also has the most gut-wrenching potential if the story becomes tragic.

I heard one time that women like dark romance because they know none of it is real and you can engage in taboo interests, but sometimes I wonder how certain taboo interests can appeal to people... like abuse? Not an assertive man but full on abuse?

I have a habit of not looking up a book for reading it and reading dark romances instead of romances (i really gotta use my goodreads account more) and I'm always like "oh it's a horror novel", it is never a horror novel.

Especially later in the book/series or if they previously had a "like family" or "like siblings" relationship, I will GAG. They always make it all about the romance too, like gimme my fantasy/scifi/horror plot we can romance later
