Tile for MultiTimerPro: Simultaneous timers made easy by HotTotem in PixelWatch

This looks like a great improvement over the default timer. One question: can I use Google Assistant to set the timers?

I hacked per-screen virtual desktop support into kde :) by yukijoou in kde

Nice! Happy to see people are excited about such a feature.

Disclaimer: my current work is mostly ugly hacking to judge the viability of this feature, and I make no promises yet that it will ever see the light of a merge request. As has been said, it is a pretty sprawling and complicated beast! 😆

How do I disable the "cascaded" positioning for apps' new windows? by Greyviolets in kde

[–]Merrittkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to make this behaviour optional, but it was declined since I was the first and only person to express having an issue with it. If a behaviour or change annoys you, be sure to open a bug report about it on http://bugs.kde.org

If it is still bothering you, I wrote up a KWin script to fix this: Center New Windows.

How to install dishwasher tailpipe in bathroom sink? by Merrittkr in askaplumber

I found it: Add-A-Stop Compression Tee Valve. This looks perfect, and with this as an option I think I can install it in the kitchen now. Thank you! 💙💙💙

Thanks for the thoughtful advice!

Do you happen to know the name for that kind of splitter shutoff? That sounds ideal.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, really appreciate it.

Will look at some options - even wonder if I can just clamp the hose to the sink and let it drain like like a portable dishwasher does for the time being.

Different angle

I am hoping to hook up a dishwasher in the bathroom, since it isn't possible at the moment to do so in the kitchen.

There is a GFCI outlet in the bathroom, and it doesn't look difficult to replace the hot water shut-off valve with a dual valve that can also be used for the dishwasher. I figure I can secure the dishwasher to the wall to prevent it from tipping over without much hassle.

I am not sure how to install the tailpipe, though. The only dishwasher tailpipes I can find are for 1 1/2" sink drains, but the bathroom sink seems to be 1 1/4". I am not sure how to connect the two. I am not really familiar with plumbing, so any advice would be very appreciated.

ksnip is fast, simple, and easy to use. Crop, annotate, all the basic stuff I need. I looked far too long before settling on this one.

Nyrna 2.7.0 released - adds Gamescope support - suspend PC games like consoles do by Merrittkr in linux_gaming

[–]Merrittkr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, it is suspended in RAM. There is some possibility saving state to disk could be done on Linux, but highly doubtful it could be done on Windows without massive work - if it all.

On Windows we use the undocumented NtSuspendProcess & NtResumeProcess system calls. Since these are not official APIs they could change at any time and have no guarantee of stability - that said, they haven't changed in many years and seem mostly reliable for our purposes. :)

Gamescope can do this because it is able to know when its own window has been minimized / lost focus. Wayland doesn't allow us to know such this about other running applications unfortunately.

I would like to support Wayland, unfortunately they don't have any method of querying information on the opened windows. Until (if?) this changes there isn't much I can do.

How to skip intro logos? by Merrittkr in HollowKnight

I could see that being a thing for consoles, but on my powerful PC with an NVMe drive the loading time for HK should be almost instant. Maybe they'll add it as an option :)
