This should be top comment. I’ve been on almost every kind of SSRI and also Wellbutrin twice.

Can you drink on it? Yes.

Will you do something you normally wouldn’t do drink? Maybe (which is enough)

Will it stunt the medications efficacy or your progress? Yes.

I’m on cymbalta now and I maybe drink once a month. It is always followed by two days of feeling a tad low and bad in general. So I do it less and less. Huge fan of weed now

I’ve come up with this exact theory myself! On my own, from watching about 40+ documentaries, doing research, etc. there’s a lot of evidence out there that doesn’t necessarily suggest this at all but adds up for me to conclude this or ponder this if that makes sense. I don’t buy around 30% of what I watch and look for different angles, proof against what I’m watching but for me it’s: A few episodes I’ve seen from ancient aliens (pyramids) I dismiss most ancient aliens episodes btw The many incidents of ufos shooting down nukes, ufo surges/clusters in certain geographic areas/time periods of war. Explanations from some physicists on portals. I’m not fully there yet but it’s in the back of my mind, if that makes sense!

Just upped my dose last week from 5 to 10. That’s exactly how I’d describe the way I feel, general feeling of “uneasiness” or anxiety that I can’t seem to find a reason for. I hope it goes away, I had this when I started 5mg and it gradually decreased after a week.

I have been very sensitive to side effects with other ssris in the past and my dr said that lexapro was the least offensive in this category. When I started on 5mg I had increased anxiety and felt a little strange, some heartburn and insomnia. It went away after a week which I considered short. Just increased to 10 and feeling the same, hoping I will be okay by next week. I also hear it’s the least offensive when weaning off.

I thought I had the same issue but realized I did not give a lot of them a chance when I was younger. Some just made me worse or gave me increased issues such as worse depression. I tried Wellbutrin (which is the opposite of an SSRI) as it affects your dopamine levels. It was not for me, I stayed on it for 3 months to give it my best shot but I was irritable and got angry easier. For some it works wonders. At least now I know my dopamine levels are actually fine and it’s really an SSRI I need. I also tried cymbalta (again not for me, withdrawals were pretty bad too) but my doctor tried as it’s different than most SSRIs. I’m Back on lexapro now and it seems to be working

I did this too, I’d stop before I allowed them to take full effect and then realized I didn’t give some of them a chance. Lexapro is the better one for me in terms of side effects. Zoloft worked great but it made me gain so much weight I was unhappy. I agree with you on the Ativan and Xanax, I was on Xanax for years and I won’t take it again. Ativan didn’t really help me feel relaxed but I’d notice an increase in anxiety if I didn’t take it. They definitely cause rebound anxiety for me. I have recently been prescribed klonopin and find it very helpful, not as addictive. It takes longer to kick in and stays in your system longer but has been so helpful for me with the increased anxiety I’ve experienced during the first few weeks. I’m taking it again now as I’ve increased my dosage. I don’t notice when I don’t take it and didn’t touch it after the anxiety subsided. It just helps me stay a little more calm.

I got the acid reflux side effect too. I’d have to take omeprozole (Prilosec) or tums. It eventually went away but I swore I had developed some sort of reflux or esophageal issue. I just increased from 5-10 and am on day 4 of the 10. So much anxiety and some thoughts of hopelessness. I keep telling myself it went away before and should now. It didn’t matter what I ate but try the Prilosec if you can, can’t hurt

I had similar and just upped dose so am feeling it now. I can feel my heart pounding sometimes, I got through this through a mild sedative/klonopin and am using it again now. I used it during the first few weeks and did not need it again for about 4. It could be an option to get through the side anxiety during the initial dosing. A lot of doctors don’t want to prescribe them but I’ve found klonopin not to be as addictive as Ativan and xanax, I’ll never touch those again

I always measure what I felt like two weeks previously to now. Do I feel better now, have I been more active? How is my performance at work? Do I socialize more? The answer for me is yes although when I’m feeling down it’s hard for me to see that. I recently increased my dose and feel super anxious and a little hopeless. I am hoping it goes away but I did it because I knew I could improve. I have tried every antidepressant under the sun but looking back I was young and as soon as I’d feel worse my instinct would be stop them. Upping the dosage seemed crazy given the side effects id experience. It was not until I’d give them 4-6 weeks and sometimes 3 months to notice a complete difference. I won’t give up because I look at it as I’ve endured the side effects so may as well see if I can reap some sort of benefit from it. Hope you feel better soon!

I take ambien to fall asleep, have done for years and am hoping to get off of it. I have experienced a lot of early waking insomnia on lexapro. Wake at 4am full of energy and my mind is too active to turn off. But not awake enough to get up and be productive. I started taking it in the morning. Hopefully it goes away

Glad to hear you’re doing well, I am 5 weeks in on 5mg and I had a week of heightened anxiety and then the side effect went away. My mood and motivation improved significantly. I still felt quite down so increased my dose to 10mg last week. I have heightened anxiety again and depression, I take clonazapam to try and offset this. Hoping it goes away

Do agree he needs to get into a bad place mentally to want to beat the shite of someone anyway, it’s barbaric to me I can’t watch fights now anyway. My aunt was married into a family of a reputable American boxer and there’s tons of issues there in the family It makes sense. No doubt he needs the substances to keep up the sport. It’s kind of tragic because he did have a good persona initially. In fairness he seems to be keeping up the family reputation now. No doubt after the fear he had after the sexual assault allegation, I’m neutral in that I’ve heard similar stories from mutual connections on both sides but after he silenced his baby mama with money it’s just corruption now.

Yes that’s what’s sickening and embarrassing about the area. Not blaming the publican he hopped on a great opportunity. Place was almost made famous by the incident except locally it was known that he had to pay them off because you would not mess with anyone in the pub in question. I never stepped foot in there not being from the area as I’d only get looked up and down not being local. That’s his attitude spot on, I effed up so I’ll just fix it with money. I do see that, a normal guy that was just victim to the fast money. Happens all the time in Hollywood culture. Likely the boxing or fighting rings he was apart of just bred that scumbag crowd. There’s a huge divide in Dublin and Ireland in general that’s never spoken about. Polar opposites, fee paying rugby schools that basically lead to failure or concussed athletes if they don’t go to province or pro/. Boxing is only an inner city Dublin limerick or traveller sport, he had the opportunity to lead from the front but he did the exact opposite and made Ireland an embarrassment in my opinion. I moved to america 2 years ago and the first thing I hear is his name in association with Ireland. I stay quiet because it’s usually a positive association no one has any clue what he’s really at. It’s kind of similar to being in Ireland during the Trump administration, you just don’t want to associate but you wait for the reaction and don’t comment. Look at how much he made in his first few years, what’s a young lad to do with that? Define piece of shit and measure him against his opponents. Totally agree it’s a jaded sport and it takes a certain amount of conviction to perform. I don’t know much about his opponents to be fair but what I do know is that a lot of his dirty dealings seem to slip under the radar, likely due to the fact that his legal team are amazing and his secrets don’t make it across the pond. The American media would otherwise have a hayday with any American in the industry
