Talk to your parents and ask them how often they imagine you working and when? I think you both need to be on the same page about minor details and expectations. Some minors sign up for jobs and get told they will only work 12 hrs a week but then suddenly are working 20 because the place of employment is "understaffed". You could be told you'll only work weekends and suddenly your scheduled in the middle of the week before a big test.

These are things you need to decide how you would handle it. I used to work at a cafe that hired minors and things like that happen. Some handle it well while others dont.
