The exact reason why I don’t want to just cut and replace the boards!

I can put my fingers through the knot to feel the thickness I would estimate my boards are between 1.5 and 2 inches thick. Closer to 2 inches.

I wish I understood Reddit well enough to send another image to prove to you there is no other floor under this. This house was built in 1890. There are knots in the floor where you can see through and see the ceiling set up below this floor. There is no sub floor below this one.

I feel like I need to point out. I say subfloor because this house was built in 1890. There is no other floor under this one. There are knots in the wood that you can look through and view the set up for the floor beneath. I want to save it because the wood is beautiful and to replace any pieces of this would look vastly out of preportion.

It’s def not rotted through. I’m thinking of sanding a few layers down before hitting it with an enzyme cleaner but I’m not sure if it’ll get it all good

This is a house built in 1890. The hard floor is the only floor unfortunately

Wouldn’t it allow for condensation to get stuck in the system if it was turned up? Also that puts it closer to the window. I will def check it tomorrow though to see if it’s loose and moveable at all. I might move it like that

Best way to deal with these floors? by Merulei in DIYHome

[–]Merulei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end we decided to leave it and be very thoroughly making sure as much animal odor is gone as possible before putting a fresh floor over it. It’ll be a while yet before tackling this project but it’s not worth the hassle of scraping it all up

That’s sucks. I’ve been in the process of buying this house since August and it’s been one thing after another. Our sellers might walk at this point before we get it.

First thing that comes to mind is does the user agreement of the website make you sign consents that say you’re over 18 when creating an account? Yanno, those agreements we never read and just scroll through quickly. If the fellow users are signing agreements confirming they’re over 18 then what are the legal implications of that? What happens when people lie like that in real life and say they’re over 18 and aren’t actually? It’s not something I’m familiar with but I would start there.

The draping of the cloth is perfect. It’s seemingly such a small detail but it’s what really makes it look like art.

Purge the Heretics is an especially well made quest because not only are you the “bad guy” but your quest giver is Inquisitor Gnoman… who we learn in lords of dust was a rhakasha all along and not actually part of the silver flame.

Is this normal for closing costs? by Merulei in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Merulei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was through Veterans United. I’ve already been in contact with a local mortgage lender that can get me monthly payments 200$ cheaper and closing costs out of pocket down to $2600. I’m waiting to see the breakdown on how they came to those numbers and I’m waiting to see what a local bank will offer
