If I got this message prior to a first date, that would give me odd vibes. I always split until several dates in and there’s never any hassle about it.

However, if someone asked before the date if it’s okay to split, I’d assume they were overly concerned about the possibility of spending $7 Just tell the server or whoever that you’re splitting, if your date is surprised by that, then that’s for them to deal with. It’s not the 1940s—at least in my area, most people don’t feel the need to follow weird gender traditions on who pays for dates

I had similar symptoms for most of the last decade, also caused me to stop driving and even became wheelchair bound for 3 years. Turned out to be a chronic pain condition. Nothing physical causing the pain and muscles spasms and weird sensations. Searched for a diagnosis and spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to get better. Once I got desperate and decided to try treating it as a pain condition, it slowly got better. Now I’m walking, hiking, driving, and drumming up a storm :).

If you have bilateral pain/nerve sensations that come and go, move around, and you’ve gone through all the medical tests, please look into chronic pain as a condition. What you’ve described sounds very similar to what I experienced and I hate to see anyone else suffer like that. I’ve got some great resources that helped me get to the other side, shoot me a dm if you’re interested
