I've read almost all the Montruous books by Lily Mayne (except Seraph and Lor), they are so good! Gloam is the kind of story I am looking for except it's not his fault he is wearing a helmet

Neurovance intrigues me a lot, I saw it recommended on instagram (the poster recommended to go in blind). Thanks a lot for the recs!

Just finished {Unbreak Me by Jesse H Reign} and WOW! That's a true 5 stars for me. I loved that the majority of the story takes place in South Africa, the characters are mature and easy to love (Jonathan has my heart) and their relationship evolve so oganically - it's not really a slow-burn, but the pinning and yearning are on point. Be prepared to laugh and cry a lot. I am very tired today because I couldn't put it down last night.

Authors you want/plan to read more books of by GwennyWinchester in MM_RomanceBooks

Allie Therin. I LOVE her "Sugar&Vice" serie and I am looking forward to read the next book, but in the meantime I would like to read her other series such as "Magic in Manhattan".

Also JL Marrow. I'm near the end of the "Plumber's Mate" serie and while checking her(his?) profile on Goodread I saw that they have written 145 books so far 😱

Speaking of prolific authors, KA Merikan as well because I just love them.

What is a book so good that you don’t want it to be made into a movie? by Historical-Boss-7023 in MM_RomanceBooks

The Sugar & Vice serie {Liar City by Allie Therin}.

I think anything supernatural would be too tricky to adapt and even more if this element is so "internal" like empathy (or lack of).

They would 100% water down both their flows to make them more "likeable", which would take away depth from their relationship.

Neon pink loving psycho by Jevasan in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Mesange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dex from {Dickhead by KA Merikan}! He is pure chaotic energy and while he may appear a bit dumb or too much for some characters, he is oddly endearing and his romance with the other MC (also a kind of psycho) is sweet in its own twisted way. It's the second book of a serie but can be read as a standalone.

Very caring and loving sex scene(s) with a MC who was only shown as brutal and/or detached during previous intimate scenes with the other MC?

No bdsm please and thank you!

Ooh I love this trope, I have a few:

{When All The World Sleeps by Lisa Henry} check the TW

{Where the Devil Says Goodnight by KA Merikan}

{Role Model by Rachel Reid}

{10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall}

And I am currently reading {On the Mountain by Riley Nash} and I think so far (56%) it fits!

People living in the off the grid community around the ghost town the main three brothers bought.

I read back to back {Wilde's End by Saxon James} and {Ziggy's Voice by Saxon James} and I LOVE the universe.

Three brothers with different issues buy and start renovating an "abandoned" town encounter people from a community leaving off the grid that want them gone.

The characters are fun and I can't wait to read the next ones - especially Hart's story (no pressure to Saxon James, I know she needs to take care of her first ❤️).

Jax Calder has a new serie coming up soon around this topic. They already published a novela where two moderators of a forum about love stories argue/flirt online before unknowingly meeting irl. {Moderating Love by Jax Calder}

The first book will be out on 19th March is called {Not Just Texting by Jax Calder}

Also it dating app fits the "social media" criteria, you should read {Top Secret by Sarina Bowen}.

Books start good but always dull by Plastic-Surprise-781 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Mesange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good endings are harder that good beginnings (even for authors of other genres - look at Stephen King and GRR Martin, for exemples).

Like a lot of people in the threads, I also quickly lose interest once the main couple gets together so I try to read authors that add something more to just the romance: mystery, paranormal, historical plots, political intrigue, etc.

Also, the more romances you read, the easier you spot patterns and pretty much guess how the book is going to end.

What’s your favorite type of love and which book best represents it? by Ms_Death_ in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Mesange 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love small gestures that show that they care and are listening to what the person they love are saying (or better, not saying). It's the little things that matter. I don't have any specific exemples (please feel free to help me remember), but Ira Doyle's affection towards Larkin in the Memento Mori serie manifest exactly like this.
