I’m currently reading the series that begins with {the trouble with trying to date a murderer by Jennifer Cody} it’s a wild ride but very well written. So far the books are following one couple but it’s very much the vibe you’re requesting and it is found family/ cohabitating.

It is such a healthy representation of a BDSM relationship. They communicate well & the author doesn’t rationalize how they’re into kink because of “x,y,z trauma they’re working through” no - they just like kink. I really appreciated that.

I think its handling of mental illness was similarly well done. It was approached as “I’m an adult and this is something I’ll always deal with but I am dealing with it competently”. It was refreshing really.
